The portrait of a completely fictional pirate captain featured in an RPG of mine. It took far too long to finish, about a week or so.Made completely in Photoshop using an Intuos 4 wireless board. Pictures of the ship Götheborg were used as refs for the rigging.
Edit: Rebuilt the image to make it more balanced, and adjusted the colours a bit.
Edit 2: More colour adjustments, changed the coat and some other stuff. Finally happy with it.

And not that hard. I have had access to the ship Götheborg, and have hundreds of photos of it taken by both me and my friends. I used one of those photos for reference.

Very cool. And I'm quite jealous, I love old tall ships and would love to see the "Gotheborg" someday. It would be great to see the "Surprise" and the "Victory" someday too.

Götheborg lies here in the harbour of Göteborg. They have guided tours from May 23. Time for some travelling?
