I made this at work yesterday.. used a magazine picture for reference for the placement of the features and the pose.. I know the eyes are off and the nose is slanted..and the fingers are screwed.. oh well..all I did in photoshop was mess with the levels and enhance the saturation quite a bit to give it more of a blue tint

i have just started getting back to drawing and such and was working with charcoal a couple of weeks ago and broke out in hives. let me tell you how annoyed i was because ilove charcoal!!!!
this pieces illustrates so well what i love about the medium - the rich darkness of it, the depth. what a truly inspirational piece!
when i get a chance to run down to the art store i'm going to pick up some different charcoal - i'm hoping it was just the willow i ws allergic to - or maybe just that brand? you make me want to run back out and create...

Nice job dood. The only thing that I think you should concentrate on is loosening up a bit rather then worrying about getting the features so perfect.
Easier said then done with unfamiluar mediums but I think that you have what it would take.

Very detailed and realistic charcol female.
The only improvement I can think of would be if the left eye had the same shine that the right eye does. Otherwise I liked all of this, particularly the pose and the colours.
