Description
Greetings and welcome to the next installment of the Lore Librarby series! Here we will be talking about the history of the Mt. Ebott region, about three kingdoms that once were united, but fear caused them to fall apart. You're familiar with two of them, but the third one - a kingdom of skeletons - is a new, fresh idea, unique to the Another One setting. Although the Skeleton Kingdom doesn't appear in the story and won't be mentioned its existence works flawlessly in combining most popular theories about skeleton brothers and their origin.
Please, enjoy!

A long time ago, during the medieval era, monsters and humans lived together in peace. The world was a relatively calm place abundant with magic. In these quiet times in a kingdom near Mount Ebott, a new species of monsters had evolved: graceful aristocrats and skillful sorcerers, the skeletons. Their souls were so powerful, filled with magic to the brim, that they developed the ability to procreate with just one parent - and not even the Boss Monsters could do such a thing. Technically, skeletons are still able to reproduce normally with a partner, but in those Dark Ages it was highly condemned by their kind. In an attempt to preserve their unique magic potential, the skeletons were not allowed to have children with others.
Humans, unnerved by the growing numbers of skeletons, decided to draw a line between monsters and humans, dividing one kingdom in two. And the skeletons themselves, inspired by this example, established their own secluded cities to build “a perfect society”. The three nations were allies for some time, even creating the Delta Rune - a unified symbol of their region with deltas representing the souls of a monster, a human and a skeleton.
But as the years passed, the power of skeleton mages grew. Their curious sharp minds made one breakthrough after another, creating things even humans - the absolute masters of magic - struggled to understand. Humankind realized that very soon these monsters would surpass them and, with the knowledge of what can happen if a monster absorbs a human soul, the greatest fear was born. Terrified by the threat to their very existence, humans declared a War on monsterkind, changing the face of the whole country forever.
Setting their differences aside, skeletons reunited with other monsters. Best tacticians, warriors and wizards tried to come up with the best strategy of battle - but one of them had his own plans. He knew that the power of skeletons was what endangered their lives. And that even united, they were no match to humans. Hiding his true intentions, he convinced others to put skeleton troops at the very front of the army, in a hope that after humans slaughter them - it will bring the War to an end.
But humans never stopped. The fear of death, the determination to live pushed them forward, until all monsters - skeletons and others - went almost extinct. Those who were left alive got sealed under the Mount Ebott, and started slowly rebuilding the monster society. But even in such dire conditions few skeletons who survived refused to stay and ventured deeper into the mountain, to create their new Skeleton Kingdom.
