INFORMATION:
GENERAL
DESCRIPTION: deuceys are a species heavily based on the theme of symmetry and duality! all traits they have come in twos or even numbers- no odd numbered traits are allowed. deuceys communicate through chirping/squeaking and squawking when aggravated. they are highly social/intelligent animals and thrive in communities. deuceys vary heavily in color and patterns, and often have bright color schemes. deuceys are ungulates and quadrapedal.

COMMUNITIES: deuceys live in forests/shores/swamps/boreal forests/rainforests. they cant stand prolonged periods of cold except for deuceys who have been living in cold biomes for generations and have adapted. while they do live in group communities (anywhere from 2-40)- each deucey finds a partner they live with for life, or at least up until death. communities always have an even number of deuceys. the partner they live with is usually romantic in nature but platonic pairs do exist. partners can be familial.

KIN: deuceys are usually born to two parents in litters of 1-5. parents are not always a bonded pair- but usually are. deuceys reach adulthood at 3 years. sometimes deuceys remain in contact with their siblings, but often do not. parents take care of their young until they are 1 year old. occasionally a bonded pair will adopt abandoned kits. typically kits and parents share a closed bond- both parents contribute to raising their kits equally.

DIET: deuceys are omnivorous, but have a very refined palette and are picky about what types of foods they eat. communities will typically have food that pertains to the type of environment theyre in (for example, deuceys who live on shores will have a seafood diet). they prefer to eat a mix of berries and raw meat if possible.

ANATOMY
HORNS: all deuceys have horns- they are used mainly for sparring/fighting/attracting a mate. both sexes of deucey have horns. small horns, rounded horns, horns that point backwards or down, and horns that spiral/twist are all rare. the bigger and more complex the rarer. most horns are pointed but still rounded at the tip- sharp horns only exist in deuceys that evolved in harsh environments. a deucey can have more than two horns- but only up to 6.

EYES: deucey eyes vary a lot in color, but typically have white sclera. pupils can contract and dilate depending on light or emotion. pupils are always oval shaped and never broken up. pupils can be lighter than irises and vice versa. sometimes pupils can be constantly contracted for design purposes.

"TAILS": deuceys dont actually have tails- but rather 'flaps' of fur that grow out from their back end. they can have up to four 'tails' at the most, but not one or three. tail fur can be shaped differently but generally stays sharp or curved. round/circular tails dont exist. a very rare trait is tails that have skeletal structures- and they always have only two in that case.

CHEEK SPOTS: always a single shape connected to the deuceys mouth- can be any color. not for any specific purpose, but kissing a deuceys cheek spot is considered a sign of affection (platonic or romantic). sometimes dueceys do not have cheek spots.

RARE TRAITS:
