This was my first try with oil paint in my life. I've never been to a teacher because I know myself and I'm sure I'll lose my inspiration and damage all my privacy. I am happy to hear that I'm guessing some right choices!

You are wise to know yourself like that I wish I would have know, when I went to art academy I lost all joy of creating.
I made things I did not feel for, for teachers that didn't care and still had to judge.
Made me so depressed that after I finished I didn't draw or paint or make for more then a year as it hurt to much
I'm going to give you one tip Knowing this will make you have a different view on colours.
Black does not exist! Not in our eyes atleast as all colours around mix themselves into what we see as black.
Ofcourse in what you make the beauty is that you may use what colours the way you want
But if what you might think as being black would be for example a dark purple you will see that all other colours make even a more vibrant contrast.
Same counts for white
