Aw JEEZ are you amazing! Every time I read this it gets hard to breathe properly.
Hey, my first comment on your awesomeness after a year of silent watching. Cool! Yay for email accounts as birthday presents from mommies!

It's a pretty awesome song. I much prefer his version to the one that was used in the ending credits.

It's a very moving song. I'm disappointed it got left out of the official movie, but I do understand their reasoning. Unfortunately.

Sometimes I cry when I hear that. It's one of the saddest things I've ever heard. I really love the Phantom (and hate Christine)

It was a nice scene in the movie. I'm sad it didn't make the final cut.

Great page. I especially like panels 4 and 5, they're really lovely.
"No one would listen" is a nice song and it works well as a DVD extra, but I'm actually rather glad it wasn't put into the movie. It seems to tell too many things straight out, things that can actually be figured out from the movie itself. Adding in the song would make it less subtle, I think.

Thanks muchly. It probably would have broken up the feel of the movie a whole lot, but it would have been nice if it was a bonus track on the CD or something.

I agree, but it definitely would have changed the feel of the film, and apparently it would have geared it in a way the producers didn't want. So alas, we were denied one of the best songs Gerard Butler performed.

The majority of the songs in Phantom were written for a different kind of tone than what Mr. Butler has, and the fact that he had to cover his accent probably made it a bit more of a struggle, but I do like his voice and think that it shines best in that song. Anytime he can be "soft" is when his voice is strongest. The angrier or more passionate his tone has to be, I think, the harder it is for him to make everything match up.
I like Gerard Butler quite a lot.

Gerard Butler is from Scotland (I believe) and that tends to be the accent he has. His accent in Dracula 2000 is slightly different for plot reasons.
You can sort of hear the Scotish accent during "Down Once More" when he's yelling at Christine, "Why, you ask, was I bound and chained in this cold and dismal place? Not for any mortal sin, but the wickedness of my abhorrent face!"
"Not for any mortal sin" comes out as "Noht fur iny morhtal sehn". I never noticed it until someone else pointed it out, myself.

Thanks so much! Yeah, I would have loved to seen that in the film too, but then all their villification of Erik would have been in vain.
