Story time, I asked my brother what I should draw and he told me to either draw a Houseki no Kuni oc (Land of the Lustrous) or Steven Universe. Since I haven't seen all of Steven Universe and don't want to be spoiled when finding a unique idea, I went with Houseki no Kuni. This here is the mineral "Sodalite". Sodalite is known for it's royal blue color (which it has others just that's the most known) and it's cool looks under UV light. Under UV light it can have an array of glowing fluorescent colors from yellow to orange and red, then sometimes cyan or green. The ones I used as references had the mineral on blue with light blue parts stuck to a brown fragment of rock. I decided to incorporate that in the hair.Fun Facts: Her hair is actually more of a layered style, the bob on top then cut down around to the longer part you see. That's what there's a gap.
I redid the UV part multiple times because I wanted this blotchy look but it just didn't look too good on the hair. I settled with this look.
