He really looks pissed. Nice characterization of him. I can't wait for the next one too. That and the Scarlet Gospels. Can't rush creativity though. I bet he's a pretty busy man.

Yeah it's going to be the sequel to the hellbound heart the novella that inspired the original hellraiser. It's supposed to be super long like 1,200 pages so far.

Absolutely beautiful. I adore the detail in this picture. The stole is so life like I could reach out and feel it's furry texture. A great piece.

ARRRR. ?
Thanks! And good, I hope you'll enjoy it... Except the book at the school library is the paperback, which has NO pictures and takes away from the experience, so I recommend going to the public library for the massive hard-cover version : )

Fascinating design you've got going on there. I especially like the nightmare/worms swimming around in the fishbowl around his neck. What are the books about?

Oh my gosh. Thanks (for asking)!
This particular series by Barker... Well, I wrote this for the school catalog when I was that high school freshman. Here. 83
"The novel Abarat by Clive Barker is fabricated with one of the most basic and overly-used storylines when it comes to fiction writings... However, there is a reason the book is a New York Times Best-Seller. Barker once again parades his fierce imagination by using grasping originality entwined with fantastical and horrific characters that are well-developed over time to warp the storyline almost beyond recognition.
In Abarat, teenage Chickentown, Minnesota native Candy Quackenbush longs for nearly any other life but her own, which is described as unbearably boring, stagnant, and meaningless. After running away from school one fateful morning and exploring the outskirts of the small town, Candy encounters a rather peculiar group of new companions. They are all ferried by an otherworldly ocean wave to the archipelago of Abarat, where each of the 25 islands is a different hour of the day (plus a very mystical 25th hour) and seems to have its own mindset.
The group of islands and its people have been constantly pelted with dark and malevolent foes, some older than even the islands, and by some twisted series of secret events past, it turns out little old Candy is responsible for helping to save the extraordinary and not-so-new world. This is easier said than done while being chased down the Prince of Midnight [Chris Carrion, here] and his nightmarish minions who wish to murder her, but with the friendly help of some equally bizarre creatures, Candy is gradually enlightened on the history of the islands and the 'normal' world from whence she came (referred to as the Hereafter) and the magic she herself has possessed unknowingly for her entire life.
Abarat is the first of a series of two books (so far) that unfolds an enthralling story with use of large amounts of vivid descriptions that leave the reader astonished by the book's end. A long and thorough exposition coupled with a number of small sub-plots makes for a purely entertaining and continuously exciting read, and it's an ideal choice for any reader who enjoys deranged and dark fantasy fictions."
I had to retype half of it just now, so excuse any mistakes... *cough*
If you look at a picture of the title, it is an ambigram.
Interested?

Gorgeous work. It has the realism from the use of the medium and yet enough abstractness in the figure to make it really creepy.

But it is shaded really well. I have no idea who this character is but he (?) looks great.

Glad you think so!! And thank you. ^^
He's from the book "Abarat", by Clive Barker. It's made up of two pretty thick books, but is a great read if you're a fan of creepy fiction. : )

I've read them but I felt the book went in the wrong direction by the second one.
I remember this guy...he was so cool.
I give the books points for originality though.

I was absolutely thrilled with the second one! I can't wait for the next three (Barker has written three more, but hasn't published them because he wants to combine all three into a 2000-page book and I am not thrilled).
There was talk of a movie, and there still is... and since HE'D be the director, it probably won't suck THAT much...
Anyway. :3
