I totally get you, thoughout the years I only had rescues as well. This time I opted to buy purebreds (because of the no-shedding, no-barking, and other characteristics we wanted for a dog) and I wasn't even planning on showing. It just happened and it's really fun!

My boyfriend is also a GSD person, ehehe, but he hates what is being done to the current show dogs. He only likes the working line dogs.
CCs are a really great breed, I had no idea how awsome they were until I met some!

My newest GSD puppy is czech line. Most GSD fans prefer working lines so your bf has good taste. They're a little more high strung, but hey - who gets a GSD expecting it to be a couch potato? There's a brazilian guy close to where I live who breeds and shows absolutely gorgeous CCs. So I'm pretty sure I know where I'm getting mine from if I decide to do so. Plus, what girl doesn't wanna put cute sweaters on their small dog in colder months (and put cute bows in their ears after getting them groomed)? Can't put sweaters and bows on German Shepherds! xDDD

Oh my, I just googled czech german shepherd and I fell in love. Most are absolutely stunning! Nothing like the show dogs we currently have here in Portugal...
Ahaha, my favorite breed is actually the dobermann, but none of the breeders I found here test for Von Willenbrand's deseases and for me that's a major no-no. If I'm buying a dog, it HAS to be health tested. Also, I'd never crop a dog of mine, but I honestly do not like the natural dobermann look (tail and ears intact). So for that reason I don't think I'll ever get one, unless it's a rescue.

I only got to know the CC breed a couple of years ago, and as soon as I knew some in person I fell in love! Little graceful girlie dogs, I know, but I just love them, eheh xD And they're perfect for apartment living (no shedding + no barking = love).

You can certainly put a bow on a GSD!! XD On teh ear hair, ahahah XDD

Teehee, I like showing, but it's soooo stressful at times that I wish I could get a handler (but I don't trust my babies with anyone). xD
Do you have some photos from dog shows?? I love seeing those!

ohhh i can image x'D but ya i love seeing when owners are also handlers cuz they really know there dog. granted in some cases good handler really take the time to actually get to know the dog and be like a second parent with it.
i doooo on my photography account SRS-Photography im suuper lazy with posting pics but i have like 1000s of dog show photos to go threw to post xD i even have a pic of a chinese crested posted x3
