Description Introducing Wellow, the prototype for my first quadrupedal toy pattern!

I don't know, this pattern is wonky in a lot of ways. I actually wasn't too thrilled with him when I finished... but I've got to say that he has grown on me quite a lot since then. What do you guys think? Should I work on perfecting this pattern?

Oh, also! He's made of fleece instead of felt! I'd really like to move to fleece for all my toys because it's actually a bit durable (nothing worse than seeing your creations developing unpatchable holes all over the place!), but so far I've only got three colors (baby blue, baby yellow, and dark purple). Not an incredibly inspiring pallet compared to the kaleidoscope of felt I've got waiting to be used...

woah this is very cool and has a lot of potential! the only thing i would say is try exaggerating the proportions more, and maybe bring in some different thicknesses, like thinner front legs or back legs or what have you.

(i know this is an older deviation but i really like it ok)

Thank you! It's super nice to get some feedback from an actual plushy artist. I've been sketching up some revisions, trying to figure out how to communicate the shapes I'm after in a more effective way (and trying to figure them out in the first place). I don't want this to turn into an MLP, after all.

Some kind of mix of The Dark Crystal's creatures and the Bahro on fourth feet. The head is very original.

Yes, I can see both of those resemblances...

It's a cool kind of abstract quadruped. I say, pursue it if it feels right until it does not.

As for the waiting collide-a-scope of colors, I once saved the silver and gold origami squares for something special, then managed to lose them.

Aw, it's a shame about your silver and gold paper!

Looks kind of like those creatures from "The Dark Crystal," but cooler. I envy not only your writing, painting, and drawing skills, but also your gifts as a seamstress! Such unique and impressive designs, so well executed!

And he reminds me of those land striders too.

Land striders! Thank you! The name escaped me. Again, great job!

It's kinda cute! And I'm impressed - it's hard to sew something with those dimensions! (I'm forever cursed to flat animals and/or doll clothes that I haven't touched in years.)

You should try again! Plushing in the third dimension is a world of fun once you get on to it.

if its front legs were five times shorter it would be like a blue version of those animals in Haven from Myst 4, the ones that you find hanging around primarily in the swamp area.

D'aww, he's adorable! The wonkiness only makes him sweeter. (Hey, I like that word. Is that maybe like his species name? Or his given name? Wonky Wellow?)

I think it's just his given name. And thanks! I'm glad you like him.

I really like it. I reminds me of the something magical. Like it should be out of the dark crystal or something.

You're probably thinking of those land-striders from the movie. I was reminded of them too, though I wasn't consciously trying to emulate them.

I think this has some potential! But you're right, it does look a little wonky. I think it's mainly the shape of the legs and the shortness of the torso; maybe you could try drawing alternate versions with different leg and torso length combinations and see what you like! He's really cute though, and I like his little eyes. ^^

Yes, the legs and torso would need to undergo some tweaking. Thanks for your input.
