Description
Agatha always believed in magic. As a child, she was fascinated by the inner workings of nature and how it provided and cared for its creatures.
To her, nature and all its intricacies was the purest of magic, and so she set out to understand it so she may wield its knowledge to aid others. For many years she was the primary healer of her little village, caring for newborn babes and elderly folk alike. Although she had never borne a child of her own, she always had Albert, her little black cat.
Rumours of women believed to be in league with the devil, started to spread across the country and eventually reached her village. The stories were too horrible to imagine – women eating children, putting spells on men and transforming neighbours into frogs. These were just a few of the terror tales one would hear about ‘witches.’ They’d say that these evil women often had odd professions and lived alone, which did not bode well for Agatha. When children started getting sick, they would say it could only be the wicked work of a witch.
Only by the grace of those who remembered Agatha as a kind healer, would her life be spared. Besides, the village could hardly afford the Witchfinder General’s fee. So she was exiled from her village – her home – where she lived her entire life.
She was on her own path now, just Agatha and Albert...
