Hmmm....in-line? Or line-in?
Try selecting "stereo mix" as your recording device in volume properties...

Whoa.. That is some serious scripting... Very cool. Maybe it was my mike, but, I would make the bars a little more sensitive.

Thanks, but I don't think it's the mic issue (though it is quite possible).
I think it's somekind of weird bug, cuz I exported this movie for flashPlayer6, and when I exported the same code for flashPlayer7 it didn't work
I hunted down bug to this line of code:
tiles[tname].barY = tiles[tname].Bar._y;
where .barY should be dynamically created (no explicit declaration of the variable e.g. var barY = 0) , and in flashPlayer7 that automatic creation of the variable doesn't occur.
When I declared the variable in the movieClip tiles[tname], I had no problem when exporting the movie for any flashPlayer version... but the guys here still report the error, maybe the old file is still in their browsers cache
Just curious, do you tend to write code that'll run in older flashPlayers (5,6), or you do your code for 7,8,9?

Have you checked out the microphone input levels?
...right click the movie, choose [settings...,] now you'll have [monitor], [folder], [microphone], and [camera] tab, choose the [microphone] tab and increase the [record volume] to your best fitting...
That should do the trick...

And what version is installed there? (just right-click any movie and check the last menuItem "About Macromedia Flash Player [??]... )

yup, the mic is working...
i even changed the recording device back to mic(it's usually line in since i use my computer as my guitar amp) and yet it did nothing.

ArtBIT In reply to Eredor [2006-07-15 12:34:20 +0000 UTC]
The recording device must be a mic for this thing to work, and you need to allow it to access your mic (it asks you that when the flash starts)
Have you tried your mic in the windows soundRecorder or something like that?

the mic works
it has, as i said, been set to be the recording device.
and of course i've allowed it...

That should do the trick...
