Visited Columbia after years. I used to live happily in New York working at a big firm. Then I happened to be in an accident in which I lost both of my arms. It took me 4 months to accept that fact. When I finally recovered after 8 months ready to live my new life, I had lost my job. They kept a temp instead of me and she performed a better job. So they decided to keep her and fired me, a helpless armless lady who was desperately in need of miney and a job.
Soon, I wasn't able to live a life in New York and decided to move back to Columbia.
When I first stepped in the village, people were giving these weird looks at me. Some were looking at my stumps with pity. as soon as I got off the car and closed the door with my legs, my mother ran to me with a blanket to cover my shoulders and stumps. I said, "MOM!! WHAT ARE YOU DOING". She said, " Keep your shoulders covered all the time.. This is not New York. Here you can't go out showing that you don't have... anyways keep yourself covered ". And I realised I made the worst decision of my life to move back here.
