Description Sara Ryder, Reyes Vidal and Nakmor Drack from Mass Effect Andromeda.

I was perfectly happy with my foreveralone-Sara whose cold professionalism was only outmatched by her unwavering calmness and social awkwardness… and then Kadara happened.
Poor Sara.
But hey, Drack’s there for you!

Your comic is spot-on as usual. For all that scoundrel's faults, I cannot picture my fRyder being with anyone else.

Where's a Renegade que when you need one? At least three quarters of the story's lazy cast is in serious need of a boot to the bum. Are they colonists or spoiled invalids?

They can't all be as suave as Space Zevran.

I still think that the "stay friends with Reyes" option would have been the best one for my Sara, but... *gesticulates helplessly* "I liked the way you looked at me..."(c) *gives up*

I wouldn't say I missed the renegade option much in MEA. It suited Shep, who was a seasoned officer/war hero/first human Spectre/absolute kick-ass/etc., but I can't imagine Ryder Jr. running around with a loaded gun and an "I don't give a damn"-attitude. It's not like the Ryders have much to brag about up until the end of the game... Although some NPCs do deserve a good ass-kicking, I'd certainly give you that. It's a bit annoying that all the dialogue options sound either way too diplomatic or downright idiotic. Oh well. I just liked to think that some hyper-diplomatic replies were meant as sarcasm xD (like in Peebee's loyalty mission when she crash lands the capsule).

Only wish there was an option to throw Liam out the airlock...

It's me. Your Ryder IS me. Also, I was unsatisfied with the romance options because people were too equally "kind", "safe", "what you see is what you get"... Then Reyes and his mysteries arrived
His character was deeper and not really advertized, so good job Bioware. Now, if you could make it last longer ...

By the way, you're good at drawing krogans.

Thanks a lot! I guess, everyone who ends up with Reyes has a similar story - it just happens... somehow xD
To be honest, I'm not sure what my take on him really is. Don't get me wrong, I was enjoying every moment of it in the game. He's one of the few characters in MEA, whom you actually want to get to know better, because (imho) he's not as "flat" as many others are. Yet I was surprised, how easily I got hooked up on the "bad boy" trope - although this is something I really can't stand IRL. I'll just blame everytning on mHawke's voice...

I love Drack (even more than Wrex)! He was the only ray of reason on the flying kindergarden called the "Tempest"
What I find a bit disturbing is that they gave krogans huge numan teeth in MEA   Brrrr... looks a bit creepy. Their design in the OT was perfect, I don't know why they felt they had to change that.

Maybe it's because he's not a squadmate. I was recording while doing his part, you have around 38 minutes of him including conversations, mails, cutscenes and related quests. It's not much comparing to the other characters. Similary to you I'm not into the bad boy trope so it can just be an allergic reaction coming from how relationships with your crew are written. Also yes, Nicholas Boulton

When I started this character I wanted to do the mini romance with the asari journalist for a trophy but then arrived in Kadara aaand, that was over

Not saying that the characters are completely unlikable but you're right to call the Tempest a Kindergarten : Liam behave like an irritating kid, PeeBee like a moody teen, Cora like a teenage fangirl (asariasariasari ...), Gil put all the crew in danger by changing Kallo's stuff ... Gosh, even Suvi licked a rock XD

I did not notice krogan teeth until now ... cannot unsee ...

I guess, you're right: the whole mysterious air about Reyes could partially stem from the fact that there's so little content with him. On the other hand, there are bits and pieces of information that could be gathered from other NPCs or from overheard conversations, like with that smuggler on Elaaden, or Dr. Nakamoto, or that mission where you prevent an attack upon the Initiative. I don't remember the names or the quests but they provide certain sneak peeks into his personality - if only very scarsely.
Whereas the companions are presented with all their faults, weaknesses and annoying personality traits. And most of them seem rather juvenile in comparison to Normandy's crew members. I don't know how old Cora is supposed to be, but she appears way more immature than Kaidan or even Ashley, although she also has a military background.

Sorry for pointing that out, I really am!  I started Andromeda right after finishing ME3 and thought that something was amiss about Kesh during our first conversation... and then I saw them, the giant human teeth! Disturbing. Somehow even more disturbing than the fact that all asari NPCs have Lexis's face

I don't know if you knew but if you choose to do nothing Sloane dies while if you choose to save her you shoot Reyes and he flees (by air, because he's swag). Conclusion : if you cannot kill him he must be important for the potential DLC or the next game we'll probably never see. Pity, because that detail made me even more curious.

I've noticed the Asari. I find that a bit irritating : just imagine how terrifying it would have been if all human women had the exact same face but different skin colors ... Also, did you notice Turians all have different paintings on their faces? I thought Turians were supposed to have similar markings if they came from the same place ... nobody seem to have the same markings even families (Vetra and Sid)

Coming directly from ME3 must be a shock. All characters were unique in the trilogy, wether you liked them or not. For exemple, because of her background Tali was a bit naive and codex-like but she became an adult, one of the most important quarian in the fleet, even eventually changed her opinion on geth. I'm not really expecting that kind of character devloppement for our new crew. Well, enough ranting.

Hehe hehehe. Nice line art and shading, and it got a good laugh out of me!

I had the same experience with Kadara - I, too, imagined my Ryder would be forever alone in this game of awkward and unfitting romance options... and then came Reyes Vidal. I really enjoy the game as a whole, but Kadara will always be my favourite planet!

Thank you so much! I'm way too impatient to do vector line art properly, so it's always a pain xD And my sense of humor is... not particularly sophisticated. But I'm really glad you liked the piece!

Kadara is my favorite planet as well - I don't know, it has a certain something. Somehow feels more "lively" and "relatable" than all the other planets.
I don't even know how Reyes happened. One moment I was completely unimpressed by the whole winking business and the next moment I was running around solving murder cases and looking for his precious cargo. Kian is definitely mixing something into the drinks at Tartarus. There's no other explanation

Aye, that must be it. Or it's something in the air. Damned sulfur fumes.
