Fingon comforts Aegnor after the latter confides in him about parting from Andreth.Some time ago, I came across this piece of info on Tolkien Gateway : Aegnor “had a strong friendship with Fingon and grace to him.” You can imagine how quickly I latched onto that loll The third footnote gives its source as chapter 9 of the Silmarillion, so I checked that out because I couldn’t remember anything so specific as a Fingon&Aegnor friendship being mentioned.
Sure enough, I didn’t find any specific quote, but I’m guessing it came from this:
“... and with Fingon stood as they ever did Angrod and Aegnor, sons of Finarfin.” (Of the Flight of the Noldor)
I do find it interesting how Tolkien Gateway specifies Aegnor having a friendship with Fingon, but doesn’t say the same for Angrod. Maybe it’s something from HoME??? In any case, I don’t know how accurate this Fingon&Aegnor friendship is, but y’know what? I’m gonna take it if it means giving Fingon another best friend loll
So that’s what led to this (Also I don't imagine that Fingon is taller loll Aegnor's just bending down XDD)
