This is outstanding...they don't cover this sort of thing often enough. I did one recently, and I want to also do one on running: gulliver63.deviantart.com/art/…

I have to get some pointers from books too. You can only do a lot from looking at people running or watching videos of it, but sometimes we need another person to tip us on what we should be observing

I've been drawing in some form since the late 1960's, and I learn something every time I pick up a pencil. I have a huge cache of tutorials, and I'll spend those off days doodling and figure sketching. I'm surprised at how much work goes into a simple study of figures like the one I just did: gulliver63.deviantart.com/art/…

good stuff! thanks for sharing this. I find drawing a walking/running person in a convincing way hard. I basically just draw them like standing but with the legs spread a bit -now that I think about it! haha cheers!

Thanks. I tend to sketch with a pen instead of a pencil, it forces you to lay down each stroke with conviction

ooo, I really like the character brought out in each walk! It's amazing how even the non-walking parts of the body contribute to it, like the hands and shoulders.

I have an affinity for human dynamics and gestures, they really add to the fun of drawing; especially in sequential works. Though I'm sometimes handicapped in drawing hands and feet.

They do, it's really exciting to see just how much one can express with body language alone.
You may have seen this one already, but this link is what I'm talking about

Wow, now that's some incredible animation! While it's true that my art rooted off manga (amongst other sources), in animation, I'd like to get Disney quality... or Don Bluth. Getting excellent gesture is one thing, but combining that with really smooth animation is dramatically a level up.

Thank you these will be very helpful to people very kind of you to post this.
I like the one on the bottom in the middle he looks like he's fleeing in terror...or hold something huge in rage and running.
