Description
Last night I managed to capture Mars. It's the first time I used my C11 telescope for this target.
At first, Mars was shot through an Omegon ADC without any filters. The best frames were stacked. Unfortunately I needed to remove the colors, otherwise the image would have had an unnatural look.
The second version of Mars in the image above was shot through an Baader IR pass filter. The frames were sharper, but it was also harder to process the image.
The third version of Mars in the image above was captured through a 2x Barlow and an Baader IR pass filter. The frames are a bit blurry, actually it would have been better to simply drizzle the normal IR version to a larger size.
The conditions were actually quite cood. Seeing was ok/good, low wind speed and Mars gained height pretty fast.
Since it was the first time I captured Mars through the Celestron C11 telescope, I still need to learn to find the optimum settings and setup for capturing this little red planet.
