...Or Aphrodite, Goddess of Love, Beauty, Pleasure and Procreation (but you know she's also into cheating, beauty contests, dove farming, pearl industry, partying, making great entrances into places, and being extremely vain in a funny "Evil Queen" kind of way).She's not my favourite, but I have to admit I always liked the stories she was involved in, and I think life in the Olympus would not be as funny and interesting as it "is" if not thanks to her

Quería hacerte un comentario respecto a este: los romanos no tenían una personificación de sus dioses y no es que Afrodita sea Venus. Cuando los romanos acudían a una ciudad nueva, Se hacían 'amigos' de sus dioses, así, al conquistarlos, no existía una respuesta negativa por parte de estos.
Cuando llegó la helenización, hablando de un período, buscaron, entre sus dioses, cuales se parecían a los griegos y los adoptaron, justo como en el resto de las civilizaciones que conformaron el imperio, sin embargo, ellos adoraban, más bien, al evento en Particular.
Venus era la madre de los romanos, es mas probable que lo hayan adoptado de los etruscos, como a Marte, que ha sido relacionado con Mamers o Mavors, dios etrusco.
Creo que una forma concreta de explicar esto es decir que se buscaba un Dios ajeno para identificar con cada uno de los propios, una especie de acoplamiento.
Venus, al igual que Marte, y otros más, forma parte de los llamados de certi-propii-selecti.

In my opinion ( I respect other peoples' opinions this is mine), I prefer to use the Greek names than the Roman names because I feel like the Romans get more credit than the Greeks in mythology!
After all, the Roman names are on all the Renaissance statues like Venus de Milo and in all the traditional paintings, like Diana Bathing.
Since the Greeks came up with their Pantheon first, the Romans copied off of then and technically took all the credit, which makes me soooo mad at them!
Don't get me wrong I love Latin, and all things Roman but the names drive me to insanity! I don't mind that your piece is called Venus, its just my opinion on Roman Mythology.
Anyway, this piece is positively gorgeous! He hair truly looks like it is spun gold and I love how her chiton matches the shade of coral in her hair since she was born from Uranus and the sea!
The light turquoise with the bubbles and the earrings are a beautiful perfect contrasting color touch and I also love how you incorporated them into her hair as well, like a swath.
This truly deserves the name Venus or Aphrodite because this piece very accurately represents her beyond-heavenly beauty! Beautiful job again and I can't wait to see the other Greek mythological characters.
Oh, and even though I don't have a Tumblr account, I saw your Pasithea and I again applaud you and a wonderful job on her!
She looks so graceful and relaxed in her pose which is what she represents and no wonder she used to be one of the Graces! Beautiful job on that as well and which one are you going to do next?

Afrodita a mí tampoco me mola demasiado, porque encima de ser mezquina como todos los dioses a veces tiene un toque de niñata bastante serio, pero bueno, no todos pueden ser tan guays como Atenea y Apolo.
Me encanta cómo te ha quedado. Me parece que le has dado unos rasgos más duros, definidos y detallados que los que sueles darles a tus mujeres, como más adulto, y hace un efecto muy bueno. El pelo y el tocado, como siempre, geniales, y además la composición y los colores molan mil (¡queda muy bien el contraste que hace la bisutería!).
Resumiendo, que es un regreso por la puerta grande.

¡Eso es precisamente lo que mola de Apolo, que desprende superioridad, dignidad y guayismo casi sin pretenderlo! 
Me lo apunto para dibujarlo en el futuro, aunque antes tengo un par de ideas en mente (¡hoy he estado buscando referencias para una de ellas y todo!).
