Yeah, i got a long time thinking about this one. The idea is when he wrap his wing in front of his body, the armor will shaped like a giant kite shield which formed a powerfull barrier XD

I first must say I really love your style! The fact you do not work with outlines makes your dragons unique.
Even more impressive are those forms your details, scales, weapons and claws have. They all look like swords, shields, scytes ore equal stuff and give not only strengh but also dynamic and beauty to your dragons.
Else your taste of colours is great! I think, you combine them well and even use natural, but fitting highlights and lowlights to get some texture onto your dragon.
I also like youre shading style. The shades are not real but improve the structure and precission of your shapes, especially of the details!
To come to a point: this dragon is brilliant because of its well thought design and its colours.
I really love the way you tried to catch the "Shield" pattern and put it onto the dragons body and also converted it into the dragons weapons, wings and so on.
The greys give the dragon a royal touch and enforce its power and its will to protect, the highlights and lowlights make the dragon smooth.
The blue tone let it seem to be a dragon sent from heaven and enfoce its power too.
Finally the pose gives the dragon so much dynamic... I can't quite tell how I am impressed of this pic^^

Yeah, I'm on my way to perfect this style of mine cause I think there're too much flaw in the style itself. And I began to work with outline, but I'll never leave this style cause I love the result
