She had finished her studies for the year, and with no plans on this very hot day, she thought she would head to the beach for a quiet swim and sunbake before the summer crowds would inevitably swarm over in the coming weeks.

She had heard rumours about a tentacled monster but had put it down to superstition. After all, she studied zoology and it was impossible for such a beast to exist.

She was about to run into the surf, enjoying the quiet serenity, when she noticed a heap of bubbling which seemed to be getting more intense.

Then it appeared! She let out an almighty scream but could not see anyone else around that would be able to come to her aid. A tentacle began to wrap around her ankle. Would she be able to escape, or would she become the beast’s next meal?
