Description Spinosaurus gained so much popularity thanks to its debut in Jurassic Park, where it was (erroneously) known as a mighty killer of a Tyrannosaurus. Although it is known that a Spinosaur can be longer than a Tyrannosaur by a few meters, those creatures never lived in the same place (and Spinosaurus has a more slender build than a Tyrant lizard). Aside its notable sail-like crest over the back; originally, the first finding of this creature make scientist to believe it had a short skull but with the time is now known that it has a crocodile-like snout (and a small crest atop), more suited to catch fishes and creeping creatures, instead to kill a Tyrannosaur.

For long time it was believed it was a bipedal carnivore, like other theropods, but the recent findings show that it had very short legs for a bipedal carnivore lizard, but with solid bones that allowed to this creature to swim in the water of the swamps where those lizards were found before. It had also big hands and a huge claw used  to catch fishes or dig up preys from the water's bed. Having such contrast in the shape of its limbs, its thought that Spinosaurus would've walked in all four, something unusual among theropods. Due to the recent findings, there is currently a strong debate about its anatomy in the palaeonthological field.
