Ambition hidden in smiles.
You wanted something, I needed it.
The sink dripped through the night. Clock ticked. Washing machine tumbled down hills in her dreams.
The whiskey didn’t satisfy; the cigarettes didn’t burn on his raw skin any longer.
Admittance: it was an addiction. No. It was life. Life’s not like this.
Too young to understand. No, too stupid. Isn’t it just innocence? You’re making up excuses.
I run away, I put on a mask until it becomes me. I can’t make out where the story starts and ends. Unneeded details wreak the plot.
Stop making yourself into someone you’re not. You don’t know me. I’ve known you for 5 years. Have I ever stopped exploring who I am? And five years you’ve avoided the subject, just like now.
I’m not done.
He turns on his side to face her. “Do you love me?”
“You talk too much.” Don’t you remember? No of course, you never have.

“Aren’t they the same things?” This chair was too big. It doesn’t matter. Useless. Again. “You’re not paying attention.” He sighed and left the room. Then he left the apartment. The building.
