EDIT: Looking forward to the new HELLRAISER film. Looks like they used the same idea as I where they aren't wearing leather outfits... their flesh is their outfits!


This is a TINY doodle I did on my airbrush worktable of the beautiful CENOBITES when thinking of one of my favorite films, HELLRAISER and what it would look like to direct a new one. The design would be somewhere between Clive Barker's original designs and Wayne Barlowe's beautiful 'INFERNO' series.


FYI: I just realized those numbers on their chests... are inches I write on my desk for quick measuring purposes.

This is very interesting. I like how they look more demonic than usual, and how you've made the chatterer somewhat bulkier.

I like how Pinhead almost looks regal and elegant and how Butterball is even fatter than the film version. Also like how Chatterer is much bulkier than before and without the leather outfit. When I saw Hellraiser for the first time as a kid the Cenobites were way more trippy to me than Jason or Freddy. Funny enough the first time I saw that movie was with my mother and her two sisters,(one of which hates horror & violence), and my older sister while eating fried chicken and God only knows what they thought.

Yeah. I wish I could go back in time and be a fly on the wall for that evening because it might be interesting to see their reactions. It was always funny hearing my aunt complain about things she didn't like such as Beavis and Butt-head, Jackass, Marilyn Manson and horror movies. I knew those were good things because she loathed them so much.
