no matter what someone draws, there will be always something that looks similar. Always. (Just type in google picture search "emo girl balloon" if you don' believe me. No matter what the original art is - and no matter from whom the art is - there is always something, that looks similar. Most books have a similar plot. That does not mean that those are copies.
And the minnie mouse pic isn't even that similar. Different pose, completely different style. It just has a ballon on it and the colors are similar. Coincidence, in my opinion.)

I clicked this picture because the first thought I had was how similar this looked to something else I had seen. I scrolled through the comments, and this is one of the first things I see. Obviously, there's more similarity than you'd like to admit.
Yes, there's bound to be similarities in art. But when I can glance at a thumbnail while going over stuff on the front page and go "This looks like that one drawing, "Apple", by that one guy I saw before," there's something wrong.

and one more thing: Even if she did know the picture, i would call this under "taking inspiration". This is one thing everyone does
I have seen work of copycats in professional work*, and this is not one of them. ;=
*Final Fantasy 7 / Akira (some background artwork, like elevators in midgard)
*copys of clamp mangas
*some other things i forgot about
Also, you have to take inspirations, poses, ideas out of somewhere. If we forbid everything, we kill art. But i agree that it is hard to say, where you have to cut the line.

It isn't hard to say where you have to cut the line. The line is cut when the original resource is identifiable. All artists use reference, and when they do most of them go out of their way to either make sure it looks different from the original in every way, or make sure to credit the original.
Regardless, the artist here should stop selling this as a print and put up a link to Apple. An apology might be warranted as well.

I still don't find the 2 pictures very similar, but thats only how i see it. I don't say that i have to be right

i just don't want to judge her/him without proof. Also, there is always the possibility that he/her saw the picture years ago -without really knowing anymore today- and thats why its similar. Thats what happened to the Author of Slam Dunk, for example

It doesn't matter if that's the case or not, and the evidence may be circumstantial but it's still there. When it comes to things like this, you don't go with benefit of the doubt. You go with what's more likely.
The palette, design, and even composition are eerily similar, even if the characters are different. Too close to just pass off as coincidence. If it was something they saw years ago and just redrew, that's still a problem that they should take responsibility for and resolve. That's what the author of Slam Dunk did, for example.

And Slam Dunk will be one of my favorite mangas, no matter what happened. In Anime, many scenes will look similar. I've seen a funny Youtube Video about this, but i can't find it anymore ;
As long as you don't copy whole manga panels, some similar pictures are bound to happen. (Especially in Basketball, where you have only so many poses

O.o I love this one :3 I found it once looking through here once.
and you know.. if you used a reference.. you seem like the kind of person who would have mentioned it if you had used one... I saw that other picture but the only thing that looks similar to me are the way the legs are posed. the rest of the girls poses are totally different. and just because they both have a balloon doesn't mean it's referenced.
So the pictures look similar. get over it. this isn't the same girl as the one with the Disney stuff. Sorry, Just had to say something on that.
