In Erikson's psychosocial stages of development, the adolescence is when we are developing a sense of identity and finding our roles.It's also the age where we are much more independent although our frontal lobe has not properly developed yet. So we continue to squint through our almost open eyes with a thin layer of naivety from childhood lingering.
And the age where we are more aware of sexual content. A definite separation of the two genders.
Also I feel it's when we are growing up enough that we learn to censor ourselves, which I personally think is bad, but that's how society works, isn't it?
I think... for me, right at this moment, it's a really scary time because my likes, dislikes, opinions, reactions are changing rapidly. For the better? I don't know.
My own view of puberty. Don't agree? That's fine.

I can barely remember my teenage years (or at least I want to forget). lol
Although that is the time were most of us have an identity crisis. I remember feeling very unsure about myself and cared too much about what others thought of me. I am just glad that I am done with my teenage phase.
You're pretty dead on with you point of view about puberty (it might different for the rare cases). I really like this piece because it reflects your message well.
I like the sketch lines and the way you captured the teenage form. I also like the color choice.

Many other kids get really condused about turning a teen with all the drama it eventually creates, if more people'd instead just sit down for a bit and think about what they're going through I think we'd save a lot of panic and depression. ;w;
