Wow, when was the last time I did something good in makers. I haven't actually picked up my copics in a long time, so this was fun.Plus, I had to draw Claus at some point... I don't think he turned out as well but I drew his face at a weird angle, which I normally don't do on charaters I've never drawn before. Plus the only reference I had for his hair was the little pixel version from the game XD
This picture was actually done for my English class. It was prewriting for out class essay, which mine of course is "Why Mother3 should be released in the States."
Time- about 2 hrs.
Copic markers on (cheap) cardstock (from BigLots, which is amazing)

I ususally use Prisma markers.. and just thick printer paper, is that good enough?

Cardstock? I use that or there's also marker paper that's good for professional markers. Check Hobby Lobby or a local art shop, they should carry it.
I've seen some good things with Prismacolor, but not from me XD
