Reminds me of Bryce Canyon, Ange - photographs of which I have, but they pre-date digital work!
I like the way that this image veers toward the abstract - canyon it is - no doubt - but close up or squinting the eyes and another more unreal world appears - lots to think about here. For the canyon view, then best to stand or sit back a bit from the screen. Also, I'm a great believer in aerial perspective and you've done Β that very well with the distance fading to "blue".

Indeed it is reffed from a pub. dom. image of Bryce! Very cool that you recognized it, because I didn't have the patience to get real exact with the rock formations
My objective with this painting was to achieve both a feeling of distance, and height, and it seemsΒ that I have, which is exciting. Thanks very much for the wonderful comment!

Wow - am I good or am I good!! It was good old Bryce! I visited many years ago now, and had a small adventure in that I was the last in the party shepherding the flock to the other end to help out our guide. When we got through and counted our group we were missing two! Somehow, I had lost them. Given the complexity of the trails through the canyon perhaps that is not surprising. Fortunately, the pair turned up and confessed to having hidden out for ten minutes to have a fly smoke! Yes, a smoke - not anything else...
