I have no idea, this is not the only place where there's logs in this forest. And I did find one pile that's at least 10 years old, there was fungi or moss growing on them. And the footpath goes right past this place, here it's legal to walk in every forest and pick berries/mushroom and sell those - the owner of the forest can't deny that. Campfire and cutting trees are forbidden, even the fallen and cut&left behind trees are off limits, you can't use them yourself.

Maybe they stacked them up neatly so they didn't get in the way of all the raking you guys do in the forests.

I read about the Every man's right laws in Finland. Sounds like a good deal. How does it work in reality?

There's still raking to do, haven't seen forest of USA so I don't know how untidy those are.

The same guy who has stacked these logs have build a wall (really low) from dry twigs to a path that people have used horse riding, it's legal but this guy doesn't like it apparently. So things like this can heat up people and the mushroom/berry picking is one thing too, people are jealous and protective about their "secret" spots where to find those.

Sometimes foreigners cause trouble, people tend to get angry if one comes to picnic their back garden. But other than that there's no problems, at least I can't remember any. We're so used to it.
