A cygnet that hasn't developed the black basal knob. The only way you'd know if it's a cob, is by catching it & having a look down under Both adult birds have them, the Cob (male) has a larger one than the Pen (female)

When I first moved to Somerset, I regularly went go down to the Swannery at Abbotsbury, where I did some yarnweaving. Got to go where the public are not allowed, and occasionally helped out with the ringing if I was there at the time. Saw my first Osprey, on the Fleet
