Thank you Isaac! It is so cool that they can be found so easily in the Arizona desert!

Awww WOW that is some BEAUTIFUL material! I'm in Australia. If you are willing to part with a tiny piece, would you consider a trade for an Australian mineral/gemstone or to sell?

Hammy, not sure what state you live in, but most of the states have rock and gem clubs that you can join. Worth trying to check out in your area, it is so fun! <3

I actually have checked em out but theres not a whole lot of places to go hounding here unless you get a special permit and or permission to go on someones land. Montana is fossil country ;v;

Actually, Montana is a wonderful mineralogical wonder. It has some famous mining districts like Butte or Philipsburg, but most of the stuff is unfortunately on private property or the mines have been long closed. Me on the other hand, just north of you in Alberta, it's literally just fossils with verrry little mineralogical interest because it's mostly a big sedimentary basin with just oil. Montana has both fossils and minerals (though of course not much compares to the mineralogical wonders of Arizona...that IS heaven).

I don't get to travel a lot because I work at a fast food restaurant. When I do though, my nose is glued to the ground. I live just outside of Billings MT in Laurel, which is kind of the middle of nowhere. Id LOVE to go on a rock hunting excursion someday though~

Dang that is a bummer Hammy! We have a lot of BLM land here so there are a lot of places to go.

Oh wow, welding! Now there is something I gotta try! Right before I moved down from the mountains to the valley here in Arizona, I was lined up to take an artistic welding class at the community college, but alas, I got married and moved and never got to do it. You will have to tell me how it is!! Eventually I need to find a class in my area for that, it sure looks fun! I can't wait to see what you will make!
