There was that book, www.amazon.com/Drawing-Pen-Ink… never stopped inspiring me. It is rather small and short, but Carl put some great examples there and made the technique so clear.

Thx so much for a tip! I also relized I may be using wrong tool for hatching at all since I'm trying myself with a brush and it's quite thick. But it may be all about learning to draw straight lines of same thickness too. Practice, practice, practice!

You know... 'bout brushes, I've been triyng to get the thing with a brush many times this summer and just came to the point that it's not for me. Too complicated, too hard to control and too much time lost while I could polish my pen and marker skills. There're tools that are just... you know, "not now".

Sure thing. I just still don't know, I never even tried markers, started with pen with a nib and now it's broken cause of my tries so I started experimenting with brush and it's fun but I just don't know how to use it Whatever, sorry I talk about myself. I really enjoy your sketches, hope you will still upload some after Inktober too.

It's ok, I'm a tutor of digital painting in a local CG-school, so I'm fine talking about others' problems - that's why I do this job.
