I was talking to a friend who was partnered up with someone really tall and lanky (while she herself is quite short and big) for a job, and was struck by an overwhelming desire to draw a couple like that.After drawing that, I decided to continue the series. This time, the couple is based on a fork and a glass of Guinness. The story behind this one is she's upset that he's not dressed for opera yet... and there's a lot of cleaning up to do.

Oh my gosh I am so tickled by this series. It makes me grin. Great characterization of their body types, I think this exercise was a smashing success! Love the implied narrative here and the adorable abashed expression on Fork's face. I also have a soft spot for women who dress very femininely but have hefty strong shoulders and some other elements to their body type that make them stand out.

Giggling now. That look on her face is awesome. And she really is colored like a Guinness, good taste by the way, she looks sip 
And for him, you just wanted to do spiky hair didn't you? But I like how jingly and metallic he looks, and yes spiky. I really like the colors for this one, both work really well from the inspiration and they look nice together.

Hah, nah, I was actually struggling a bit at first - I needed an eating utensil, but couldn't figure out what to draw. Spoons are boring... knives are also kind of similar-looking to chopsticks - long and thin.
A fork was the only option... :]
