Yeah, I immediately thought of Silent Hill (I recently finished Shattered Memories, with the ice and everything and this really could be part of the game XD). But I love creepy atmospheres

Yeah, snow is pretty rare here but and it was the first time I saw Phantom Manor like this but it was sooo beautiful!

It does feel a bit ghostly, although that's partly down to the point of view and the way we're looking up here. o.O
The actual mood/atmosphere is pretty light, mainly from the actual lighting and the colours overall.
If it was a bit darker, or it had a vignette... that might change things a bit. I know you don't have the tools to make the latter, but... yeah.
I'm not fond of the positioning mainly because it makes everything a bit unbalanced, but that might just be me. >.<

Actually "Ghostly" was mainly a reference to the fact that it is Phantom Manor / Haunted Mansion but it's good if you can really feel it on the pic!
I thought a vignette would be great here, yes, but no, still haven't the tools to do it
I cropped the left side because I thought the house was not centered enough but not sure that's what you mean. ..
