The style and technique is reminiscent of wet-on-wet oil painting and I really enjoy it. The landscape and atmosphere is pleasant and feels warm. The whole image is very welcoming. Although, the lone figure seems pensive and conveys a heavy story despite being featureless. The whole scene stays with me for a long time after seeing it.
The idea that this is a king at the edge of existence may be something that I'm projecting onto it, but the hunched posture gives him a world weary silhouette that I love. I only took a star away because the lone figure wandering is something that has been used before. Aside from that small detail, this is a really powerful piece. Great work.
