Devon and Amy's conversation was broken by someone's screaming in the water. Amy noticed few kids on the inflatable was floating away from the beach. Their mom stood in the water and screamed. Amy ran toward the water with her equipment. Devon just stood there without a clue. Amy did not have a good record in the training but she knew she can save them.

"Amy, I think I better call 911, just in case you drowned."

Devon and Amy were the worst lifeguard based on the training records. That's why they were assigned to such tiny and quiet beach. In fact, Amy was good but many things happened to her and pulled her down physically and emotionally.
