I'm still kinda workin on the title. But all in all, this was a school project where we were told to create a final piece based on the topic of Life is my anti-drug . Throughout the term, I had a completely different idea, but my teacher and school mates came to me and said I got to change things up. I was getting too predictable, too monotonous with my works. So i decided to stick with a medium I'm familiar with (pen), and use a different subject matter (an animal).

In response to the term topic, I opted for a more positive approach to anti-drugs. I aimed to illustrate a feeling of upheaval, of rising above drugs and bursting into life with more vigor than before. Also, I wanted to create something beautiful, something that the viewer can look at over and over again, and still find something to admire every time . It was really fun pushing myself with this work and I got very pleasing marks for it but I think that's it now: no more drawing for school projects . I want to try something different next time (perhaps a comic, sculpture, animation etc).

Had to get 2 A1 papers for this and put them together as one work (I think that's called a diadactic work ?)
Normal cartridge paper, but about 1.5meter x 75cm
Done in colour pen and charcoal background
