"Gore"

Lythronax argestes. A painting of the newly described tyrannosaurid, Lythronax. Though it was just published recently, I got to see a cast of the skull in a fossil reproduction studio in Colorado during the sumer. When I saw it, I was not sure what I was looking at. I knew it was a tyrannosaur just by looking at it but I did not know what kind of specific genus it was. And somewhere else in the studio, I saw a diagram of the skull with paleontologist, Mark Loewen's name on it.

With a name that means "King of gore", how could I not make it gory?

Completed on the 9th of November 2013.

Done using acrylics and water-soluble color pencils.
