Description I have made this for the latest challenge of the traditional media group. The subject was 'Opposites Attract', which made me think of one of the many versions of the legend of Lilith, the first wife of Adam.
She was made of the same earthly materials as him (not of Adam's rib as the later Eve), which made her his equal in all ways, and not his subservient. But Adam didn't agree with this, so Lilith ran away from the Garden of Eden to a cave, after which she met many demons and gave birth to their children.

Now, this is only one of the many legends around the person of Lilith. I'm not making any religious statements, so please don't feel offended in any way.
I just chose this story because she went from being divine to meeting demons in a cave and giving birth to their children, so that's quite the Opposites Attract I'd say.

It didn't quite work out the way I wanted it to, but I didn't have enough time to create something better
So I hope I can make something better for the future challenges

I recieved an honourable mention , much appreciated

water mixable oil painting 50x70cm.

Hi! Your work is awesome. I'm a watercolorist and just starting to try water-mixable oil too. Think I can have some fun and discover new effects by using both media in one painting. Did you also use water soluble linseed oil?

Amaterasu1960 In reply to rinaswan [2011-08-04 13:20:21 +0000 UTC]

Hi! Thank you so much, I'm glad you like it!
I have some of your art in my favorites, you have also great work!
Yes every time I use linseed oil, I put linseed oil on the canvas before I paint with oil, the first time you mixed with cold water 50% and 50% linseed, the 2de time with hot water. It's really great to experiment with water-mixable oil, you can make many differend textures with it
I hope you have alot off fun, and let me now how much you enjoy it!
I watch you!
