A peregrine falcon. I just needed something to do, and found an old scetch. This didn't turn out as good as I wanted, though. The face looks weird. Among the other parts.I'll just call it a practice piece ^^'
The bird seems to be thinking 'WTF?!'

Nice that you like it. It wasn't my original intention to make it that way, but after numerous attempts to make the scetch look more realistic I gave up. It doesn't look that bad after all. Though if I was drawing it now I would remake the face ^^'

According to a report by the national board of forestry in 2007, there were 250-270 nesting pairs of peregrine falcons in Finland. Although endangered, their numbers are apparently increasing now. I have never seen one in the wild, but my old biology teacher told he knows at least one nesting site. I don't know how far away it is, for he refused to tell the exact location to protect the birds. Disturbance caused by curious biology students is one thing, but there are also malicious people out there who steal eggs or chicks from nests and sell them to be used in falconry and people who might kill the falcons(I really can't think of why).

I love peregrines...I first heard of them in a book which is called "My Side of the Mountain"... o then I found out that some peregrine falcons live on a volcanic plug near my town.
