I believe that you pretty much nailed his grin there.

Eh, he doesn't look like a Beanish to me, but that's a fun theory.
Fabric Mario! From the people who brought you Paper Mario.
Speaking of that, my new working theory is that Intelligent Systems were too busy funneling creativity into making Fire Emblem: Awakening a great game with great characters that they just kinda forgot what they were doing with Sticker Star.

Maybe he's half-beanish on Popple's mother side? I dunno, I always was reminded of Popple playing that game and so it shall be. That's the closest anyone's gonna get for a species on the guy anyways.
(plus this is the closest we're going to get to actual Beanish appearing in Mario Party unless Mario Party 10 finally unleashes the floodgates of awesome and make, say, Fawful playable.)
Now that I'm actually playing Fire Emblem Awakening (as in, actually levelling people instead of just going to each chapter immediately), I'm inclined to agree with you. I'm making sure in my Club Nintendo review, I make a note that I do enjoy the story and characters in that game so we don't get another Sticker Star.

I like the guy, even though I've only played a tiny bit of any game he's in. I think just because he's an unusual/unique character in a game that you'd just kind of expect to trot out all the Mario staples. He looks like he's straight out of one of the RPGs.

Out of the two that you did for the tumblr game mentioned, I find myself liking this one a little more. There's something about the texture you used paired with your linework that I think fits better on Popple compared to Cackletta & Fawful. That, and I think his expression helps him stand out a little more, and it even takes me back to remembering his antics in Superstar Saga :>

Oh, Popple. Some of my friends and I have tons of jokes about Popple. Most of them involve shipping him with Mona from the Warioware games. XD

Mario crossover ships can be fun. There are just SO MANY GAMES with SO MANY CHARACTERS.

QUICK SHIP THEM ALL.
Do you have any ships like that?

Actually, not that I can think of, haha. Except for Mimi/Doopliss, but they're from the same series so it's not even that crazy.

Thanks! It really was. Even though I didn't play it until I was a freshman in college... that was like six years ago?? I still have a lot of nostalgia for it, almost like something that's been with me even longer. (To be fair, college changed me a lot!)
