Description I don't know why but I'm way more comfortable showing sketches here on DA than on other social media. Here's a sketch of my babe Hubert. He's a banker who's just trying to do his best.

You are the best with comments! Seriously you've brightened my day
I'm such a sucker for designing characters like him. Designing more modern outfits for characters is incredibly fun for me!
Do you have any preference for things you like to draw?

Yeah man draw whatever your heart desires! you're awesome!
Um welll I've been told my art is inconsistant hahaha
I love drawing hair and eyes though, I'd love to be able to draw swanky suits like that!

And you draw what your heart desires as well! My art style jumps all over the place as well because I love to experiment and be influenced by various styles.
Hair and eyes are my absolute favorites as well! I get a lot of my inspiration for clothes from pinterest and movies!

Aside from Fantastic Beasts, Guy Ritchie's Sherlock Holmes, Penny Dreadful(TV series), Mariah Mundi & The Midas box, Sweeney Todd, and Dracula (Gary Oldman's)
are movies I know with amazingly well done costuming with impeccable suits. You've probably seen them but gosh! It's so amazing to watch these films with studying purposes
in mind. Or just looking at images from the movie, hehe.

But really I could go on about movies for inspiration, so if you're ever curious about clothing for the Edwardian, Victorian, Rococo, Napoleonic, and Georgian time periods, I'd be so down to
talking to you about them! And hey! I'd probably be learning a lot by talking to you about it too!

So many inspirations!! honestly most of the time if the eyes or hair doesn't look right I won't bother finishing haha
I'm incredibly lazy though, and I rarely use references haha I am terrible with proportion!! I've been trying lately to avoid hiding hands as much as possible!
I've had such a rush of art inspiration and motivation lately, which is strange because I can go weeks and months without drawing a single thing.. Its mostly been Credence but the heart wants what it wants ='D  So I've been making the most of it!

Yess teach me master of clothing ;O;

Huehue, I'm the same way too. I sometimes get in a perfectionist mode where everything needs to be right or I scrap it.
You'll find yourself rapidly improving upon using references! Maybe sort some time out when you're not feeling tired or lazy to do some reference hunting?
Just stuff you know you'll be needing like hand references or clothing.

I've been a mess when it comes to posting and drawing stuff lately too, haha. But Fantastic Beasts and my own dream of making a comic has been giving
me enough strength to try and push through it when possible. But don't be too hard on yourself! And you're definitely right on just making the most of
being able to draw when you have the inspo to.

And aaah! I'd say when you can just watch movies with the clothes you like. Part of it is doing research.
When you see a film you like, ask yourself these questions:

1. Why do I like this? The color scheme, cut/style of the clothes
2. What elements of the outfit am I particularly drawn to? Is it the jacket, shirt, accessories, makeup, hair, color scheme?
3. How many other outfits in this film do I like? What's the time period?
4. What obvious inspiration/style is this movie drawing from? Is it Nouveau? Deco? ( I got my mind on The Great Gatsby for some reason, haha) You can find a lot of inspiration yourself if you're able to see what looks and styles the
movie is drawing inspiration from.

Just knowing about yourself and what you like can help you research and inspire you to make your own outfits!
