Description
He came looking for answers, but one look inside and he realized he had all the questions wrong. His name is Jose Mendez Jr. and at 31 years of age he has served with FPA for the past ten years of his life and truly believed in what they were doing. Hell, when his sister Nicole had her initial misgivings about the Agency, it was Jose who convinced her to join up. The next shot buzzes pass his ear. He almost laughs, bullets can't hurt him. He and his sister inherited the same gifts the government gave to his father; incredible strength, speed, rapid healing and bullet proof skin, why would they even bother shooting him...unless these weren't normal bullets?
He didn't have time to think this thought through. He didn't care. He just had to keep moving and not get hit. Best case; they were normal bullets and they wouldn't hurt him, but the worst case is what he always prepared for and when the stakes were as high as this, he wasn't going to take any chances.
Finally he reached his point of entry, he was only two hundred yards or so from the street; a very busty street and they would have to call off the pursuit. The plan: make it to the street, find a place to hide, warn his sister and those he trusted and then bring down those who corrupted the purpose of the FPA. He could hear the sounds of horns honking just ahead and thought to himself how funny that this is the first time in his life he was grateful for rush hour traffic.
He side hurdles the concrete barrier with ease and is only a few feet from public view when he feels something grab the back of head. He barely registers in his mind that the size of hand to hold his entire head with ease must belong to a giant of man before he is tossed into a nearby wall. The impact crashes him into a nearby empty warehouse and as he struggles to his feet his cellphone goes off. He can only register the shape of a hulking man before the first hit comes, a second, a third....he taste his blood in his mouth and then his world goes black.
The hulking man picks Jose's body up as a cellphone starts to ring in Jose's back pocket. Another man approaches and retrieves the phone and looks at the screen.
"Guess you won't be talking to your sister today." Then he places the phone in his pocket chuckling.
"Let's see if phase two works as good as it did with you big guy." the older gentlemen says as they retreat into the shadows.
