Description Talent? You can't buy talent. The weapon is only as good as the person wielding it.

I was thinking the other day what defines a "badass", usually in a cliche sense he/she is marked with a facial scar, wears an eye patch, but what if we physically remove a body part, surely that will make him/her unable to continue their duty?

What if they were thrown in a world were technology overrules the human mind? That everyone was able to perform the same way. Yet no one is able to out or under perform anyone else. It would surely be easier to dispose human life. Why take the effort to fix something when you can make another one knowing that it will perform like everything else.

Out with the old and in with the new. Yet the old always seemed to be a little better, it was a little tougher getting the kinks out before you can mass produce it.

Anyhow, I was just playing around with an idea sort of like the disposable clone goes rogue etc.

It's all about storytelling. I wanted the character to have some sort of narrative but as to how he arrived to that situation is all up to the viewer.

In the third paragraph I think you're talking about really far future only shown in the movies ('_')a Though I don't get what the last sentence of the paragraph means, if you're talking about treating human life like a tool I think that individual's emotions would get in the way and society as a whole would cause revolution. What am I saying-_-; Anyway that's just my basic opinion and yes I just wanted to chisel in on.

I understand I write a little weird at times, it's mostly the spur of the moment.

The last sentence about why take the effort to fix something when you can replace it.

Well think of it this way, A blank slate. With this slate add some lines to that slate that intersect each other creating a network, that's structural functionalism basically societies norms, ideology all that, a big network.

This is all coded in and the "programmer" can dictate the actions and behaviors, they can read it and understand it. But if there is a glitch (a new line is added) it overlays over the other lines creating new paths and networks that weren't meant to be there. The programmer then has a bit of a hard time trying to remove this line. Even if the programmer does fix it there will still be traces of this line and the damage is done. It becomes a little unstable, and a little unreliable. Think of a new computer, what a beauty, fast, efficient, and it gets the job done. Now five years down the road it's a piece of utter shame that you want to defenestrate.

And about treating human life as a tool and how human emotions get in the way, there is fantastic movie out there that deals with this issue titled Equilibrium.

Somehow what you're describing reminds me of the movie Matrix..

I've read a review about the movie once, it was mostly negative, the main character doing to much actions even though he's a high rank general and all, besides the movie itself being critiqued as copycat of the Matrix.

I don't think he was a high general more so like an elite guard. I personally enjoyed Equilibrium more as it dealt with the issues about human emotions and how it "poison" us. The Matrix in all it's glory is still a fantastic movie, but it had a few confusing elements in it. When Neo first met the architect he finds out there has been different versions of the Matrix. The first version completely failed as it was too perfect and considering human nature we would like the OPTION to rebel, not that we want to,but it is nice to see it as a social norm. Thus Zion opened a haven to that rebellion, people might of heard of it, some might believe in it, but it is a way to escape from reality (ironic hah). I thought it would of been neat if Zion was apart of the Matrix instead if it was outside of the Matrix, thus giving an illusion of Freedom and Rebellion to keep the perfect order. But then we wouldn't see the bombastic gung-ho mechs going gung-ho at the machines, and of course the giant orgy that ensued, good for the box office

You mean emotions are bad for us?? -_-;; Well we're born this way so it's likely better to just live with it.. Yesh peace is better than noisy, hard war and sane people mostly prefer that Only that in the movie machines needed human life form as their energy source so it's more like machines force-connected the people to Matrix to use them as batteries... However people only rebel when they see something is not right, or more likely, things are not going good for themselves, and it can only be fixed by brute force so ┐('_')┌ ..So you're saying the movie is stereotypical?

Haha no emotions are excellent. I wasn't ranting on what I believe in, but moreso talking about the concept of the piece in a fictional world. I was trying touch base if the concept was a clone and became enlightened about the whole ordeal.

Now in the history of the matrix, the reason why machines sorted to the thermal/electrical energy that they could feed off of humans was that humans blotted out the sun so that machines can no longer function due to an economic crisis.

However when people see that something is not right, they have an option to rebel, an option to act. And it is this that comforts us as people that we have options to do things rather than be compelled to with no jurisdiction. Brute force is only applied to the minority who have become aware of the Matrix.
But do the enlightened people have the right to take away life? They are no better than the agents, the classic lobby scene with the SWAT and security guards, how much life was lost that day? How many bodies were flushed out? They weren't away NEO was the chosen one, they merely were doing their job.

Forgive me if I sound like a ranting old fool, I really am not one. I enjoy a good philosophical discussion

Oh right machine just didn't attack humen for no reason... I remember

..I mean brute force over the government, which is the minority but not that minority in the movie.
Of course not..-_-; Although worst criminals should be considered. Oh I heard that's why Matrix is more for entertainment, good for the eye, which means it's not that serious...

Honestly, you don't sound like one but you sound kind of confusing-_-;; Especially from that enlightened clone part. I didn't know which character you were referring to. Yep yep I always had question about why am I living this world in the back of my mind like pretty much everybody else and you seem to be one of them ('_')

Pretty good work. I like the colouring.

And about the idea of fully equal performance amongst human: wouldn't that be boring? No idea to have any kind of competitions any more since everyone would do just the same score.

Exactly, thus the over ruling powers have complete control. On what you think,do,say, act, no one would question your doings.

So it would simply be total freedom with someone telling you exactly what you do.
