Description I hope my scanner burns in hell... heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeelllllllll!!
It really hates watercolor paper for some reason.. and It completely killed this picture. I don't think it's one you can appreciate unless you see it in person..

Blah. Done between 5-7 in the morning... can't.... sleep...

This looks great!! No need to hate the scanner...if you think this is bad, it must look really nice in person....it reminds me of one of the characters from the 5th element...well done, I must say

actually..I raher like what the texture does for this image...I think it enhances it's attractiveness. Though a neat trick to lightening paper texture is to put on a very very slight Guasian Blur

I tried that actually, it didn't make enough of a change in the paper texture and too much of a change in the picture Then again I'm picky.

lol..naw...it's not because you're picky (which is a good thing in most cases)....it's a hit or miss...sometimes works sometimes doesn't...

Oh, it's beautiful... and I barely can immagine it better.... but you're right...watercolor papers have strange texure... and usually the colours aren't so bright and neat to come out very well after the digital scanning... Even if I can't appreciate it in all is beauty, if found it very nice because it's so expressive and poetic and I can guess a great melancholy in it... brillinat job!!

yeah, watercolor paper's never been really good with scanners. the texture keeps it from really getting up close to the surface, i think... plus watercolors don't scan that well to begin with. all the light tones are usually lost..

regardless though, if you hadn't mentioned anything, i don't think i'd have noticed. it still looks gorgeous, despite this being all we get to see of it.

Yep watercolor paintings will always be a bitch to scan properly.. all I can do is try and fix it up in photoshop so that it looks half decent.

Thanks Ross!

Yes, scanners can be a pain in the ass with traditional art, one reason why I don't submit much anymore. You seem to do a good job at making it look good though. Nice job with the colors, expecially with watercolors which can be a bit hard.

Hehe I love drawing those kinds of noses.. sleek and a little bit pointy. I think it looks destinguished... I think I spelled that wrong too.

Well first off scanners are evil and should burn in hell. I love the colors you have going on here, but i would also love to see what the original colors look like too. the use of negative space here is awesometoo.. keep up the awesome work.

Oh wow. That's beautiful, and I really really love the choice of colors! So bright and beautiful, but not overpowering. Just very subtle and. . .bright!

This reminds me of that eye-teaser picture, of the vase. . .or is it two people facing eachother? The way you manipulated the shapes to outline a face, it's really beautiful work, and the solidity of the eye, or 'eyehole' just puts that illusion in concrete. (I might just be making nonsense here. . .so tell me if you don't understand, and I'll try to explain it better. . . )

I just really like the whole thing. I know what you mean by the scanner just totally screwing up watercolor papers. . .it just isn't the same when you see the painting on a screen, or in person.

About how large is this painting by the way? (obviously small enough to be put in a scanner. . . )

Good job! I REALLY love those colors!

Hmm.. it's umm.. either 9x12 or 8.5x11. I know exactly what you mean about the illusion.. I remember the face-vase thing well. Thanks!
