Description Sitva sat on her haunches, surveying the small herd of deer in the meadow nearby. The wind blowing downwind from her sent the smell of the large does and their fawns in her direction, keeping her easily hidden from them. Sickly, weak animals were her preference, and there was one good sized fawn suffering from something wasting away at her body, keeping her from gaining the weight she needed to survive. It wasn't surprising though; she was a twin to the other young deer at the mother's side and was easily much weaker than her sibling.

Hunting had been much easier when she was with the pack, and her outcast status kept her from being able to rejoin them; despite her natural hunting ability and the ease at which she was able to find the succulent meat they craved so badly in the winter. Easing slowly toward the grazing herd, Sitva eyed the fawn and watched her every move, and the alertness of the doe standing near her. When she was within sprinting distance she made her move, springing quickly to the side of the fawn and grasping its neck in her powerful jaws as the entirety of the herd raced off, distant shadows in the darkening woods beyond the meadow. She was never one to make another animal suffer, so she quickly broke its neck to avoid unnecessary pain.

Pride in her skills as a hunter was evidenced by the jaunty gait she affected as she carried the small fawn back to the den she had dug two summers ago after her pack had run her off. It was shaped from the side of a pretty hillock, covered in wildflowers during the spring and summer and easily camouflaged in the fall and winter. Sitva lay down on the top of the hillock over her den with the fawn on the ground near her. Closing her eyes, she remembered her days as part of her family's pack.

… The winter had been very cold, and the pack curled together for warmth during the night, mingling together and sharing their bodies' heat. The morning dawned and the wolves stood and stretched; shaking the light sifting of snow from their coats. Vini eyed his pack and sent up a load howl – the hunt was on! He looked to Sitva for her powerful nose, hoping she could smell a herd somewhere nearby to feed everyone.

Sitva concentrated and closed her eyes, focusing her senses to find the heard of elk they had been following recently. Locking eyes with her leader she took off in the direction of the elk, leading the pack to the hunt. Her black coat had not lightened for the winter, and it shown in stark contrast with the fresh snowfall. Vini caught the scent and his body language told her that she needed to take her place now that he could lead the hunt. Dropping back to the back of the pack, she tried to keep out of site of the elk they were quickly gaining on so she wouldn't scare them off. Knowing that her coat alone could give away the hunters, she fell to her belly; trying to become as small as possible.

The hunters ran on, eyeing the herd and picking which elk to fall. They were ten-strong, and powerful as a team. Sitva hunted with them at night, her dark coat finally coming in handy while blending into the shadows to scare the prey toward the rest of the pack. A sudden explosion of motion caused her to jerk her head up – the huge buck had spotted her in the distance, and the elk ran. The hunt was ruined.

Vini's alpha female Teven turned her vicious gaze on Sitva and snarled. She had had it with this odd colored wolf, angry that yet again she had ruined a hunt that winter with the stark raven blackness of her coat. She hated the way Vini looked at Sitva as if longing for her to be the alpha and no longer caring for her. She was the alpha female; this wolf would no longer challenge that authority! Charging Sitva, she grabbed the fur around her neck and tossed her to the ground; and instantly submissive to her alpha, Sitva rolled to her back. The continued growls and snapping told her that if she valued her life, she would leave and never return. She was outcast.

Lowering her head and rolling to her belly, Sitva tried to catch the eye of her aunt, but she turned away, looking off into the distance and accepting the will of the alphas. This wolf no longer exited to her, family ties or not. Teven snapped at her again, and Sitva slunk away until it was safe for her to turn and run; howling a song of loss and despair at losing her family…

Heaving a sigh she opened her eyes and turned her attention to the fawn by her side. Ripping into the belly she ate her fill, leaving more than enough for a few more meals before she would need to hunt again. The territory she had etched out for herself, was quite large and very bountiful. Sitva had never had any problems hunting and had never lacked for food. Her golden eyes scanned the landscape surrounding her den as she took in the scents on the air. It was spring now, and she had to be on the lookout for packs who wanted to expand their territory. To her luck, there were no nearby packs to fight for dominance.

Hunger sated, she crawled into the den and lay down on the bed of rushes and fur from rabbits she had bedded down with for warmth. Safe, for another day, from the dangers that life held for a lone wolf.

(24th Apr, 11:25) Sitva Said:

Sitva closed her eyes for a moment, trying to rest lightly for the night ahead; the one she assumed she would be on watch for, taking care of her friend. She dozed for a moment, thinking Zimrah would be where she was for awhile. Her slight respite was short lived and fitful, her brain refusing to allow her any quality sleep as her mind raced with the worry for the other shewolf. The golden eyes blinked open blearily when something in the air changed, something was off. The quiet snarling sounds of her friend had stopped, and so had the breathing that alerted the black fae to another living creature in her den. Panic filled her brain again as she leapt to her feet and circled on the spot, trying to see if her friend was simply being very quiet in the den.

It was empty.
Zimrah was gone.

Her thoughts raced frantically, trying to discern where the fae had gone and seeing nothing in the quickly fading light. She would have to rely on her nose in this endeavor, and as the thought reached the whirling brain, her black nosed pressed close to the earth as Sitva hunted for the scent of the other wolf. Her nose didn't fail her; quickly finding the scent and pointing her in the right direction. The scent marks wavered back and forth, as if Zimrah were weaving in her haste to leave. The revelation startled Sitva and her worry began anew, hoping that the calico hadn't injured herself to cause the unsteady walking pattern. Once she had the general path though, the fae took off at a run, eager to catch the other female and reassure her of her place here in the territory.

Decision made, Sitva ran - following the scent in a general fashion and scenting the wind occasionally to make sure she was on the right path still. The trees basking in the dim light shrouded the calico in the darkness of their shadows, and the iridescent fae almost ran right into her friend before two new scents reached her nose and made her fur on her body bristle at its full length. Wolves. her mind said, reminding her that she did indeed live in an isolated territory, but other wolves had a slim chance of finding her. Her long months of training for a potential fight might possibly be put to the test. Already she was feeling protective, and if these wolves were going to threaten her hold on this area, or her new friend, Sitva was going to fight with everything she had. Recovering quickly from her near collision, the fae stepped forward with stiff legs, posting to her full size, and her hackles raised with bristling fur made her a threatening sight. Carefully, she shielded the other fae with her body.

Golden eyes turned to meet the dual-colored gems of the calico, giving her a confused look full of worry and care before turning her attention back the pair that was intruding on her home. Coldly calculating now, Sitva assessed the two as if they were a threat, and tried to keep herself in check for a moment longer. The two wolves seemed as though they were mirror images of each other, and to Sitva's eyes, seemed as if they were connected in the body. Further examination revealed that they simply stood very close together, almost cowering in their uncertainty. They moved as though they were young, though their size told her that they were indeed adult wolves, or at least had the look of them. She sighed, smoothing her angry posture into that of a strong, dominant alpha female. Her tail flagged high behind her as her head came up and her neck arched gracefully. She let herself play off the picture of health, for at that moment in time, she was. Spring, and training, and swimming had done much for her, and she was sure her skills would come in handy if ever they needed used.

Sitva took a few steps forward, directing her words to the pair of intruding wolves, "This is your chance to announce yourselves to the alphess of this territory. Tell me why you are here." she demanded. As she waited for their answer, a gentle breeze shifted the branches of a nearby tree, sweeping the scent of fear and the pair toward Sitva. The scent of fear and testosterone told her that at least one was male, and that both were scared. Perhaps they are young after all, she thought, I won't let that disarm me though. Her eyes narrowed, glaring at the other wolves, deciding to wait for their answer before judging them further.

(18th Apr, 10:46) Zimrah Said:

Zimrah remained still, teeth bared, waiting for Frost to come to her, waiting to take his life as he took hers. She was resigned to death, but her heart beat not with fear, but with the eagerness of finally taking out the brute with her, she almost smiled in her excitement. Still, minutes passed and nothing touched her. Slowly, very slowly, the pounding in Zimrah's head began to lessen. She still hurt, but the unbearable agony began to subside, and the red veil began to dissipate with it. What seemed like decades later, the calico wolf was able to slowly raise her head and, carefully, open her dual colored eyes to peer into the shadows around herself. Frost was not here, of course he wasn't, her eyes fell instead on the form of her new friend. Zimrah felt a wave of relief, but only for a moment. Had she attacked Sitva? She tried to think, to remember, but nothing came back to her aside from the certainty that she had blacked out again.

Tired as she was, the tri colored female was immediately on her feet. She looked around herself in horror and quickly fled the den. She needed to be away, she needed to make sure that this did not happen again. There was a reason she wandered alone and she meant to put distance now between herself and the kind female. She pushed herself into an unsteady lope, so weak, but so determined. She tried to push herself faster, but where the mind was willing, the body would not obey. Still, she continued on at the pace that she could manage. She was so caught up in getting herself away from Sitva that she did not notice the movement in the distance at first, or the scent of lupine that was not the iridescent female.

Then she spotted it again. Two wolves in the distance. Zimrah stopped so fast that she almost fell, planting her dark muzzle in the grass before her as she tipped forward. Straitening back up, Zimrah's first thought was again 'Frost'. But no, these were two wolves and neither looked like the brute. She did not know what to do, were these friends of Sitva's? Were they intruders? They were not moving in an aggressive fashion, in fact they seemed skittish and unsure of themselves, one following the other so closely that they touched, clearly quite fearful. The female cocked her head to one side, watching them move and not knowing what she should do. There was something faintly familiar about the pair, but she could not quite grasp why that would be and she just stood, unable to even make a sound to let Sitva know what she had spotted.

The pair of wolves were now peering back at Zimrah. The two had frozen in place and they seemed wary and unsure. They appeared almost polar opposites. A male that was black with traces of white markings, and a female that was white with almost matching black markings. Something tugged at Zimrah's brain. It looked like adult versions of two of her slaughtered pups. 'The Twins' she recalled faintly. She then shook her head violently, that could not be, they were dead. Hadn't she seen them dead? She began to shake violently, feeling as though she was seeing ghosts and she longed to have Sitva at her side to tell her if this was a vision, another hallucination, despite the fact that her head felt fully clear now.

(16th Apr, 07:46) Sitva Said:

Sitva's guilt over moving the suffering fae mounted as she watched her struggle with whatever was ailing her. Her panic was wearing down and the error of her ways was making itself clear to her and her mistake was glaring. She lay beside Zimrah, watching and pondering her next move though she was hesitant to do anything more that might make the situation worse. Under her breath she kept humming the song she had only just been singing, and tried to wait it out. Some time passed while Sitva mused, to herself, and movement at her side brought her back to attention.

The calico was attempting to stand, struggling, and her final position was unsteady and awkward. When she barreled full speed into the wall, a sharp gasp escaped her. She knew now that bringing her friend to the den was the wrong idea, what comfort it offered herself was not enough to help Zimrah and instead, had trapped her in the cavernous den under the wildflowers. Guilt rankled the black fae even more, as she watched the sharp canine teeth of her friend sparkle in the faint light and decided that getting near her at this moment would be dangerous. She whined. Trying to keep herself from obvious movement, she shuffled slowly and moved out of the way of the sharp teeth.

Part of her wanted to throw water on the fae and try and shock her out of her episode, but the more logical side told her that would be seen as an attack, and would make the situation worse. The fading light streamed into the den's entrance, giving her a good view of Zimrah and her pain-ravaged frame. Finally speaking out loud again, she whined pathetically, "I really hope you are okay... I'm here for you."

(25th Mar, 10:44) Zimrah Said:

Zimrah genuinely wanted to fight the feeling of being pulled, of her body being moved and forced to do something that it chose not to do, but she was weak, confused, blinded... and her calico body simply did not cooperate. She twitched slightly, but it was all that she could muster at the moment. Dreams, waking nightmares, continued to play in her head as though they were happening this minute and she snarled again, teeth bared, ready to fight the enemy that was not even there. She thought that she heard something in the distance, as though someone was calling to her in a pleasant manner, something that was meant to be kind... yet kindness did not exist in this place and she fought against it. Surely it was a trap. Ruthless as always, Frost had loved his traps, they showcased how clever he could be.

Her old tri colored body was tired, yet Zimrah pushed herself beyond what was meant to be possible. She had to fight to escape a possible trap. She could NOT go back to that kind of life. She pushed every ounce of effort into regaining her footing and somehow ended up on her four white feet, but she was unsteady and still blind behind a red veil. The pain in her temples was sheer agony. The confused female tried to bolt forward and hit the den wall with full force, knocking herself painfully back onto the ground. She was now certain that she had somehow been trapped, but she could think of no way out if she could not use her speed, so she laid out flat on the ground, lips pulled back from her canines, ready to snap when he came near. She resigned herself to death, but planned to take him with her. The world remained clouded and the old female remained confused, dual colored eyes milky and distant.

((OOC-yup, it sucks, warned you that she wont talk to me...))

(30th Nov, 01:58) Sitva Said:

Sitva panicked, unable to know what to do in this situation. Her friend was having trouble with... something but it wasn't something the fae had ever had to deal with before. She had two options; either she could drag the calico back to the relative warmth of the den, or she could lie down beside her and wait it out using herself as a warmth source. With a whine, Sitva shifted her weight between her front paws, indecisive of what to do.

Finally, her pack mind won out and the iridescent fae grabbed hold of Zimrah's scruff as gently as possible and dragged her slowly back toward the den. Her brain was telling her that it was a bad idea to drag a wolf as she was, but her panic outweighed it all and she finished the journey home, tense and waiting for the fae to attack her.

Once she had Zimrah comfortable as she could reasonably make her in the den Sitva strugged again with what to do next. Another low whine escaped her throat as she struggled with what to do next.. gingerly she lay down beside her and tried to give her comfort, but the other wolf was much in the same position as she was when she dropped to the ground.

What do I do now?! she thought, beginning to quietly sing a song about the forest, more to fill the silence and to calm herself, than to reach the struggling fae.

By the sacred grove, where the waters flow
We will come and go, in the forest

In the summer rain, we will meet again
We will learn the code of the ancient ones
In the forest

By the waterfall, I will hold you
We will meet again by the leafy glade
In the shade of the forest

With your long fur on, we will surely roam
By the ancient roads, I will take you home
To the forest

Satisfy the soul baby
Birds sing all day long of the mother lode
We can let it roll, in the forest

As the song droned on, Sitva lowered her head and decided to wait it out, uncertain of her friend's fate, but unwilling to make the situation worse than she already might have.

(24th Nov, 01:00) Zimrah Said:

Zimrah wanted to listen to her friend. She never wanted to have one of her episodes at all, and she desperately did not want to do anything stupid at this exact moment in this specific place. Despite her wishes, she felt herself drifting into the place in her mind where reality could not reach her. Sitva's voice was almost helpful, but she had not been here with this female long enough for it to save her from herself. Her brain made the full slide into the strobe light flashes of a nightmare that was possibly her past, possibly a made up horror story and possibly a combination of the two.

The calico fae felt pain and anger and guilt and fear, all at once, and all so strongly that they fought for dominance in her head. She could not even see what was around her at the moment, she could see only images and snippets of faces and places and a world tinted in red. At the same time she hallucinated scents and sounds. She smelled fire and singed fur with wolf blood, she felt the heat of fire on her skin and heard laughter, deep and mirthless laughter. She wanted to attack, though she did not understand why, and at the same time she wanted to cower down before a being that was currently unknown.

Zimrah stumbled around, blind to the things that were really around her, before falling again to the ground and laying there watching strange scenes play disjointedly in her head, which throbbed with pain. She was now unaware that Sitva even existed, or the land around her. She snarled at the flow of images playing like a tape reel against otherwise blind eyes, showing her teeth and trying to fend off the nightmare.

(9th Oct, 05:06) Sitva Said:

It wasn't long before Sitva realized that her calico friend was not following her, and a sound from behind her made her wheel around in surprise. The fae had mentioned that she was different, and Sitva was seeing the signs of that now. The noise she had heard turned out to be the sound of her friend collapsing to the ground and growling fiercely as she writhed and snaked her neck, seemingly searching for something. A fearsome scream escaped her friend tinged with pain, hurt, and a terrifying hint of murderous rage.

The iridescent fae watched as Zimrah tried to stand, drifting one way and then the other as she tried to find her feet below her. Fear for her own safety crossed her mind in a fleeting moment before disappearing as Sitva propelled herself toward the struggling fae. "Zimrah! Zimrah! What's wrong!?" she cried as her friend began to twitch and jerk. Her first thought was that she would bite her tongue without being able to control her movements, in a slight panic Sitva did the only thing she could think of doing, and grabbed a decently sized piece of wood and tried to wedge it in the jaw of her friend, protecting her.

In the back of her mind Sitva knew that she was in terrible danger if Zimrah decided that she was not a friend, and that she could easily be hurt very badly but her concern for her friend outweighed these thoughts as she tried to steady the calico by leaning against her and bracing her own feet. Nuzzling Zimrah on the cheek she lowered the tone of her voice and whispered in her ear, "You are not alone. Whatever you are dealing with, I will always be by your side to help you through it. Come back to me now Zimrah, come back..."

(9th Oct, 12:52) Zimrah Said:

Zimrah wanted to be grateful for the comforting words, the kindness of the beautifully marked she wolf and the offer of a place to stay, but she was beginning to feel that strangeness wash over her more fully. She very badly wanted to not expose Sitva to one of her fits and was beginning to regret not leaving at the start, when she had had the chance to make a getaway without seeming rude. She already knew that this other femme had her own baggage and did not want to add to it yet again. She had tried to explain herself, Sitva had certainly seen her far from her best and handled it with aplomb, yet she had not experienced a full blown episode, the kind where the calico wolf no longer had control of herself and ceased to be the same wolf. The mere thought of her strange personality swings seemed to bring one closer to the surface. Zimrah grimaced as she watched Sitva ahead of her, walking to the den.

Zimrah felt the painful throbbing start in her head, the migraine like pain. As usual, it was accompanied by her vision becoming tunneled and tented in red. Her peripheral vision seemed to disappear in a black fog, she could only see what was directly before her, and that vision was distorted at that. She could hear the very blood in her veins pulsating in her ears, a drum like sound that caused her hearing to become distorted as well. As the throb of pain heightened she could feel the anger coming on as well. She wondered if she had time to flee before she was completely gone, she whipped her head around, looking for somewhere to run that was away from Sitva's den, but the sudden sharp movement through the dizzy wolf off balance and she staggered and stumbled to the ground.

She had flashes of visions that could not be real, possible memories, but they seemed so tangible. Zimrah could see her pups, slaughtered and covered in blood. One had a clearly broken neck, possibly the only one that had died quickly as the others were shredded, mutilated, and showed obvious signs of struggle. A strange fog surrounded this vision, but she could see the pups clearly enough and could even smell their blood in the air. Her rage escalated, both in the dream like vision and in this real place in front of Sitva's den. For a moment she was seeing the correct place again, then another vision took over and she saw Frost standing over the pups, the wicked smile on his muzzle covered in the blood of his recent kill.

Zimrah let out a scream, part horror part rage. She was going to leap for the brute when the vision faded and she remembered that she was here on the ground in the territory of another fae. She struggled to stand, tipping one way than another, growling as she tried to regain her footing. She wanted to be away from this place as the anger continued to boil and writhe in her, but her body did not cooperate as her white limbs began to twitch and jerk as though she was experiencing seizure activity. She tried to hold onto the thought that Sitva had been so kind to her, so welcoming, so nice, but the hatred became the only thing she could be sure of as the fit continued to escalate.

((OOC-Since we have Sitva dealing with Zim's episodes elsewhere it seemed like it was time to toss at least one REAL one into our RP... may as well, as this can lead to further plot that I have in mind... if we choose for it to))

(5th Sep, 08:50) Sitva Said:

Sitva rubbed her head against Zimrah comfortingly, "Yea, I wore myself out too. I haven't eaten since this morning and the sun is setting. We are clean, sweet smelling and tired. I say we get a bite to eat from that deer, and go to sleep. Maybe in the morning we will feel better, yea?" A soft smile lit her face as she looked at the stoic calico standing on the bank of her lake.

Her lake. It had always been hers. This secret wonderland in the middle of nowhere was untouched by other wolves. And here came this faewolf... tired, exhausted, weaker than she should be... it was almost like they were meant to be there together. Now this place was hers... and maybe it would become Zimrah's too. But all she knew was that she was happy with another wolf for company.

Memories crossed her thoughts again as she remembered how she had come by her land...

Exhaustion tore at her muscles as her blind fear and depression that had fueled her run away from the pack. She was far outside their territory, but her blind run had brought her somewhere she didn't recognize. Her ribs were showing, she was dehydrated and her coat was dull and lank with hunger. Time hadn't existed as she escaped when she was run off. She didn't know how far she had run, or how long.

Panting, she padded along slowly, trying to keep moving even though her body wanted her to stop, sleep, eat... the sound of the water as it hit the bank in its current caught her ears as she fought to keep her eyes open. Through the trees she saw the lake, the crystal blue, clear water sparkling with what little light there was. She made it to the bank before collapsing at the into the shallow of the water, too little to drown her, but just enough to cool her body as she drifted into the darkness...

And that's where Zimrah was standing, right where she herself had stood when she awoke and stepped out of the water. Deja'vu overwhelmed her, and she shook herself, trying to clear the thoughts from her mind. "... not time to dwell on the past, now it's time to move to the future..." she muttered under her breath.

Walking slowly, she walked to slowly toward the den, hoping to get back to the warm furs and rushes and rest. "Come on Zim, my den is your den." She called out.

(3rd Sep, 06:14) Zimrah Said:

Zimrah could hear the sound of Sitva's voice through the fog in her mind, and she saw that as a good sign. In one of her full blown 'fits' she often could not hear other's speak, or even heard things that were not really there and not being said. She could tell from the kind and concerned tone of the other fae's words that it was really what was being spoken because the hallucinations were never that kind, usually being remembered cruel things spoken to her, or bad thoughts given a kind of real voice.

She continued to look down at her paws however, wanting to make the feeling of vertigo dissipate by assuring herself that she was standing in one place. She kept telling herself over and over again that she was fine and that her feet were firmly on the ground. Finally she responded to the other.

"I think I just wore myself out."

She spoke calmly and clearly, though quietly, not looking up just yet, afraid of moving too quickly and causing the world about her to swim in circles again.

Sitva dragged herself from the water tiredly but still feeling very refreshed. Swimming was still work even if it was good for them. Flipping over in the water Sitva took her long, open toed sweeps of her legs and swam back to the shore. She checked her coat before getting out, to ensure that the 'suds' were gone and wouldn't make her itchy; it was when she looked up and saw her friend on the bank motionless that she lept from the water, filled with worry.

"Zimrah! Are you alright? Did something in the water hurt you!?" Approaching carefully, she nuzzled the faes shoulder comfortingly and tried to get her attention. She was torn between wanting to be there for her friend, and wanting to give her the space she might need. A rumble in her stomach reminded her that she hadn't eaten since the morning and that there was fresh meat near the den. It might be a good idea for the both of them to eat some more when they got back and rested.

(30th Aug, 11:11) Zimrah Said:

Zimrah continued her over exaggerated doggy paddle in circles around Sitva. In all honesty she seemed to only be able to go in circles, but she felt no fear as it was not hard to stay afloat. Like most animals she had a natural swimming instinct even if she did not maintain much grace in doing it. She did her best to duck further under the water to wash the nice smelling suds from her fur, though having her head under the water made her much more nervous than the swimming. Head submerged made her think of drowning in the dark depths, so she got that over with as quickly as possible before continuing to paddle around Sitva once more. The swimming became slightly more natural to her as she did it, her paws were splashing less, but it was still pathetic compared to the ease with which her companion slid through the water.

Zimrah was enjoying her dip in the cool clean water, but realized that swimming was wearing her out. She tried to copy Sitva and float on her back, but something about being suspended in the water upside down gave her an extreme sense of vertigo and she quickly spun herself back upright and paddled frantically for the bank. She pulled herself out of the water and shook herself vigorously, hoping to make the feeling go away. She was fearing yet again that she would have one of her episodes and she stood on the bank, looking down at the white socks on her front legs, hoping to fight it off.

Laughter billowed from her as she watched Zimrah 'bathe'. Her doggy-paddle was comical and her friend looked very pleased with herself having made it to where Sitva was. Diving under the water, Sitva popped up under Zimrah's stomach and brought her closer to the shore. When they could both swim, or at least float, comfortably, she rushed to the rock with the sweet smelling cleansing she had created and scooped it all up in a shell. Paddling back, she used her paws to rub the mix into the calico fur and massage her at the same time. "There! Clean!" she giggled, "Go swim around and wash it out."

Sitva swam off, trying to demonstrate how to get the mix out of her fur. She flipped onto her back and lazily floated along in the current of the lake. A yawn escaped her mouth, making her realize she was very tired after her ordeal that day.

She got the idea after seeing Sitva work at it for a few minutes however and suddenly she had another moment of puppy like excitement. Instead of taking her time to go through the whole bathing ritual that the iridescent female had shown her, the calico wolf took off running for the water, galloping along full speed, and made a giant leap for the water. Her flying entrance created a huge splash, waves stirring up the water around her, but the feeling was wonderful and she had a grin on her face and she paddled around in a circle. She wasn't exactly experienced with this whole swimming thing, and it showed by her less than graceful nature in the water, but she certainly wasn't in danger of drowning as she splashed her way closer to Sitva. She had a sheepish smile on her face as she approached the other, knowing that she had not done as Sitva had planned, she hoped that the other wolf wouldn't mind. As she paddled closer, still splashing quite a bit, she looked into the other's golden eyes and said "Swimming!" while showing off her clumsy doggy paddle.

Jumping up excitedly, Sitva nuzzled the other fae on the cheek and tried to convince her to get up and follow her. "Wanna go swimming?" She grinned cutely. "I can help you clean off that fishy smell you have all over you. I know of a couple tricks..." she trailed off and wandered off toward the lake to gather some of the sweet smelling sand, and sweet pea flowers to make her friend smell luxurious. She laid them in a hollowed out rock her the bank that she used for holding them, and splashed some water into it, mixing it with her paw. When the sand and flowers started smelling nice, she gave a little howl to call Zimrah over.

Leaping into the water she rolled on her back and dug some of the wet sand into her coat to clean herself. Rubbing her sides and face in the sand came next, she caked herself in the sand before bounding into deeper water to get it off of her. The fish smell was gone from her coat, but it was her friends turn next.

Friend.. how strange it was for her to even know that word. She had never really had a friend before. This fae was different though. She was friendly, and in need of a little tender loving care to get back to health. And Sitva was happy to provide it. Even if it meant not being lonely just for a little while...

Zimrah laughed with the iridescent female, even while thinking it was unusual behavior for herself, being so friendly and lighthearted. She had of course been through water before, but had never intentionally taken a swim, usually conserving energy. Thinking back, or trying to, she suspected that she had been forced to swim at least once to escape danger, but that was clearly not what Sitva meant.

"No," she told the other fae, a grin on her face, "Well, not that I can remember, or not for fun..." She trailed off at that point, uncomfortable talking about her absence of proper memory as it reminded her of not only an unpleasant past, but also of the episodes that she so feared. Her grin was gone, wiped from her face with the mere thought of her episodes. Was she putting Sitva or herself in danger staying here for so long?

She watched a moment longer as the butterfly flicked its wings in uncertainty of the laughter from the calico then snorted, causing the creature to fly off. She watched for a moment before leaping over to Zimrah and waving the vine at her. Grinning she set the vine down and sniffed at Zimrah. "You smell as bad as I do, and you're filthy!" she cried laughing at the absurdity of the two of them. She lept in the air and flopped onto her back next to the fae. "Have you ever been swimming?" closing her eyes she tried to explain, "It's like being weightless ... I imagine it's like flying."

Zimrah ran after Sitva, bounding and flexing her muscles. She was not in shape like the other female and was slower than she was used to being, but her recent rest and the food allowed her to make her way after the other, white tipped tail waving in the air like a banner as she ran. When she caught up to Sitva she went into a fit of giggles, the other wolf had a vine in her mouth as though ready to play with it, but was frozen and staring at a butterfly that was waving it's wings slowly as it rested on the canine nose. Zimrah actually dropped to the ground and rolled around as she laughed. After the laughter tapered off Zimrah found that the ground below her felt good against her itchy skin and she continued to roll, now for the sake of the plants and earth scratching her back. She knew that she was rubbing all manner of dirt into the calico coat that she had once been so proud of, but it felt good and she couldn't make herself stop for several minutes.

When she was finally done rolling she remained still on her back. She looked from her silly position back up to Sitva frozen in her own silly position and she panted out another laugh with her white paws in the air and her tongue hanging out of her mouth. "I probably made myself filthy," she panted, "Are you going to hang out long enough for that butterfly to take up permanent residence?" she joked with Sitva. When was the last time she had been comfortable joking with another wolf? Had there ever really been a time?

Her stomach rounded with the delicacy of fresh fish and roe, Sitva grinned happily as Zimrah egged her on to play, grinning she yapped at the calico and tore off into the underbrush in search of a heavy vine. Finding one she grabbed one end and bowed the front half of her body into the puppy bow and woofed around the vine. Mumbling she managed to get out what she hoped sounded like "Wanna play tug-o-war?" but she couldn't be sure. Sitva wagged her tail, a toothy wolf-grin on her face. Company was good, and this wolf made her feel happy like she never had been before.

While she waited for the other wolf to catch up, the wind blew her long pelt and she caught a wiff of herself after their feast realizing that she rather smelled of fish. Maybe I can get her to come swim with me and get cleaned up. The idea appealed to her and made her wiggle in anticipation. She loved swimming, the feeling of the water gliding over her fur and making her feel weightless. Just remembering her last swim made her squirm with delight.

A light flutter in the air above her nose made her open her eyes and look down. On her nose sat a beautiful blue and red butterfly and she stilled herself, hoping not to scare the fragile creature that had alighted on her to rest its weary wings. What a sight I must be, she thought, with this vine in my mouth, and a buttefly on my nose.

(16th Jul, 04:21) Zimrah Said:

Zimrah, feeling a new lightness to her step, sprang eagerly to the fish that Sitva tossed onto the bank. She followed the other female's earlier example in dispatching of the animal, though she realized as she gripped the slippery prey that it would take some time before she did it as easily as the iridescent fae. She then returned to feasting on the original fish that had been split open for her. She made sure to slowly savor the eggs before she dug into the actual fish. She had never tasted either and could not decide which one she enjoyed more. Finishing as Sitva brought her most recent catch to land, Zimrah sat back with a contented sigh and licked her mouth clean with relish.

"Thank you," she said, meaning thank you not only for the fish, but for everything that Sitva had done for her. She was feeling more like a proper healthy wolf than she had in a long time, possibly years. She couldn't believe how pleased she was to have company, she thought it might have been the first time that she had ever been so pleased to be around another wolf in fact, with the exception perhaps of when she had been with her pups. That had ended in disaster however and she tried to shake that dark foggy thought from her head. Now was the time to enjoy something for a change, not time to upset herself. She grew quiet for a moment just the same however, the broken memories tugging at her heart.

Making the choice to force herself back into a better mood, the calico wolf suddenly jumped back to her feet and bowed down before Sitva in a play posture, white tipped tail wagging furiously in the air. She hopped towards Sitva and let out a very pup like yap, pawing gently at the other wolf and spinning in a circle, feeling good and goofy and light once more. She then darted off and ran in one direction, then another, testing the other wolf, seeing if she wanted to play.

(16th Jul, 02:03) Sitva Said:

Sitva sat and watched as Zimrah ate her first bite of trout roe. Her eyes closed in bliss as she savored the eggs and wagged her tail gently. She grinned slightly at the shy way that the fae looked at her to make sure it was okay to eat. "Of course it is!" she grinned, turning in a tight circle to show off her iridescence, "How do you think my coat is so shiny? When I was growing up, my mother used to bring home fish for my brothers and sisters and I. There's something in the fish that gives a certain luster to your coat. It also makes it very soft." She watched Zimrah lap at the eggs and was very pleased with herself for coming and fishing.

"Go ahead and eat that whole fish, I'm gonna see if I can't get a bass out of this lake. I've seen em jumping for mosquitos at night." She waded slowly into the lake, trying to make as little ripples as possible to not scare the fish. When she made it in to her belly again, she stopped and let the water still itself. With her nose almost touching the water, she watched for the bass that she wanted. Another large trout stopped to rest in front of her and Sitva opened her jaw and snagged it carefully and tossed it, flopping, onto the bank not far from Zimrah. "Can you kill that one for me? I'm still waiting on a bass before I come out." She braced her legs again, the current was trying to pull her out to the other side of the lake, Just when she though it was hopeless for the bass to come out, the mosquitos decided now was a good time to descend on the lake.

Her patience was waning, and the smell of fish from the bank was calling to her and reminding her that she hadn't eaten much today. Her stomach rumbled, emphasizing her thoughts. Finally a bass jumped for fish near her, and waiting just a moment for the fish to get closer, she lunged. When the fish was lodged in her mouth, she trotted with prancing steps toward Zimrah with the fish - she was very proud. When the fish stopped moving, she set it down and eyed the three fish on the ground. "We have to eat what we fish today, and maybe tomorrow morning or they will start to rot. That's the only downfall to this diet. They are best eaten fresh out of the water.

Without much ado, she split the head from the body of the bass and ripped it in half, "Here, this half is for you. You can also eat the rest of that trout with her roe! We will feast tonite!" At that, Sitva let loose with a melodious howl, a happy, victorious sound strong with well practiced notes to compliment the songs of the forest. As she ate, she couldn't think of a time when she had ever been happier.

(13th Jul, 09:32) Zimrah Said:

Zimrah approached the dead fish slowly. She was oddly cautious about this new kind of prey. She had never even considered fishing personally. She paused near it and lowered her nose to it carefully, almost as though it was still alive and possibly dangerous. Her nose took in the scent, fairly unfamiliar, but somehow appetizing, and then slowly approached the fish the rest of the way. She sat on her haunches before the meal and turned to look at Sitva, a sheepish grin on her face.

"You sure it's alright for me to eat it?" she asked bashfully, "You seem to find it to be quite the delicacy, I don't want to take it from you."

She placed her nose close again to the strange meat. She stuck out a tentative tongue and lapped just a small portion of the fish eggs into her mouth, not wanting to keep her hostess from the roe that she seemed to so enjoy. Zimrah was delighted by the salty strange taste and texture in her mouth, strange, slippery and utterly delicious. She closed her eyes as she savored the taste and her tail wagged happily.

(11th Jul, 01:59) Sitva Said:

Sitva was pleased when the tri-color wolf bounced her way after she pulled the fish fresh from the water. It made her happy to know that the first taste of a water creature for this wolf would be a delicious fresh trout stuffed full with eggs. Watching the tail of the other wolf wag with ferocity, Sitva couldn't help but smile, "It's a trout. And a fee~male," she chanted in a sing-song voice, knowing Zimrah had no idea what that meant yet, "which means I have a surprise for you!"

Before the other wolf could act, she was ripping the head off the fish and yanking out it's spiny backbone so that the fish would open up into a flat shape and reveal the shining pink eggs in their sac inside the trout. It was a method she had seen practiced many times by the other wolves, and was pleased with the result - although it wasn't quite as pretty as some of the other wolves had gotten it to be. Vini had taught her that just once, secretly, and very much behind Teven's back. "And these," she breathed, as she slit the sac open with her nail, "are her eggs. My alpha once called it 'caviar'. I think he heard it from some humans before he came to be an alpha. Anyway, they are some of the most delicious things you will ever eat out of the water. Try it!"

She sat down excitedly near the fish, waiting for Zimrah to take her first taste of the slick eggs, as she had done when she was just a pup. She remembered it fondly, as one of her few happy memories with her family.

(11th Jul, 01:37) Zimrah Said:

Zimrah stumbled to her paws, disoriented after the nightmare, though her brain was already clouding it over, distorting it further and pushing it away into the fog that was her past. For a minute she really wasn't sure of where she was and, looking around her to find walls, she felt trapped and some remnant of the dream made her think that she must escape.

The tri colored female burst forth from the mouth of the den like a creature possessed, dual colored eyes wide in fear, fangs showing, but not in a very threatening manner. She stood, stiff legged, blinking in the dimming sunlight, taking in her surroundings and trying to remember where she was. It wasn't until she gazed out to the distant figure of Sitva in the water that she calmed, relaxed and remembered that she was safe. Somewhere safe. Almost unheard of in Zimrah's world.

Now that she knew she was not in any present danger, the calico canine laid down on the ground, just outside of the den, and heaved a sigh as she watched the other wolf. She rested her chin on her paws, but still cocked her head to one side in curiosity at what Sitva was doing in the water. The iridescent wolf seemed to ripple the same color as the water and Zimrah was drowsy again looking at the pleasant site. Suddenly the dark wolf lunged and came out of the water with something in her mouth. Zimrah's jaw dropped as she watched her pull a good sized fish from the water, her head and ears were up and attentive in her surprise, her tail wagged happily, she had never thought about fishing and she found the idea delightful.

Zimrah hopped to her feet, feeling a bit more life in her tired muscles now, though she would likely need several more naps before she was entirely back to normal. She trotted down to the water's edge to investigate the strange swimming creature that her hostess had caught. She bounded the last few steps almost playfully, poking the fish with her muzzle. "What is it?" she queried.

(11th Jul, 01:21) Sitva Said:

-Part 1-

The sun was going to set soon and Sitva wanted to make sure she was there to try her paws at fishing. She had seen some of the other wolves do it, but was never allowed to try it herself for fear that she would scare away all the good fish with her efforts. The black wolf did love swimming though, especially the sense of being weightless and running without actually running. The water of the lake sparkled with the setting suns colors and reflected them up and onto the leaves making them shimmer unnaturally. It reminded her of her own pelt and she smiled.

Sitva reached the waters edge and waded gently in. It was warm and smooth on the surface, it was fed by a small waterfall that flowed down and into the lake at the far end. Since the area wasn't fished by humans, she assumed she would find some decently sized fish if she tried. When the water touched the underside of her belly, she stopped and waited for the surface to smooth out again and looked into the clear water, waiting for her chance to strike at any fish brave enough to come closer to her.

As she waited she let her thoughts drift back to the calico fae sleeping in her den... the beauty of her coat astounded her and made her question just why the fae had been in her territory. There was nothing around for miles and miles and definitely no packs to speak of ... so where had she come from and why was she so thin? It was pecuilar to her that when the other wolf tried to recall her past, she seemed to have a fit of sorts and not remember. The uncertainty didn't bother her though, she knew things happened that the brain wanted to get rid of, and suspected that was what had happened to Zimrah. She was curious about the fae's past, but she didn't want to cause her pain or hurt having her try and explain it. She assumed the story would come in time, maybe not at all - but that was for the other wolf to decide.

A pulse of water near her leg made her come back to her senses again, a huge trout had gotten brave and come to investigate. Very slowly, so as not to alert the fish to her movements, Sitva followed the fishes movement and waited for her chance to strike. When the trout was turning around to go back to deeper water she struck out with her teeth and head quickly and sank her teeth into the fishes tail anchoring deep so it wouldn't wiggle away. She lept out of the water and brought the fish to the bank. Dropping it on the ground, she quickly snapped its spine and killed it, pleased with herself for actually succeeding in what the pack had thought would be a glaring failure.

When the fish stopped moving and was finally dead Sitva was pleased to find that it was a female, and this was spawning season! The trout was surely full of the little salty eggs that were hard to come by and she couldn't wait for Zimrah to wake up so she could try some. Her exhuberance overcame her and she let rip a triumphant howl that shook her entire body and reverberated back to her from beyond her territory. Something inside her was happy that she was able to provide care and food for another being, like a little pack all to herself.

(10th Jul, 12:07) Zimrah Said:

Zimrah was dimly aware, in a dazed and half asleep state, that Sitva had spoken to her before padding out of the den. She sighed happily. She had been so hesitant to trust another wolf, but this female seemed to genuinely kind to be mistrusted. She only hoped that she wouldn't outstay her welcome or have one of her episodes. She thought, as she dozed, that she would need to explain that part of herself to Sitva as soon as she was awake and aware enough to do so. Maybe, she allowed herself to hope, maybe if she explained it, this female would still not turn her away? She thought it was a lot to ask of someone that she had just met, but having company was so unusually comforting for once. She heard, as though part of a dream, the female howl somewhere outside, it was a happy howl, not a sound that Zimrah was used to, and she smiled in her sleep.

As the calico female sank deeper into sleep her thoughts did not stay so pleasant unfortunately. Her mind took her back to the last time that she had experienced the company of other canines. In her dream she was wondering through a fog, and she was confused. She could smell blood and it was not the smell of a meal, but the smell of wolf blood. She was walking without meaning to, in that way that dreams have of taking you where they want you to go, she became suddenly afraid, knowing that she would see something that she didn't want to see when the fog cleared. She was unable to stop it however, as was the want of this particular night mare, the fog cleared and they were there, as vividly as the night she had really seen them. Her puppies, slain and bloody, the den covered in blood and fur and scuffs in the dirt where at least one of the pups had tried to fight back. Standing in front of them, with a wicked crimson grin on his face was their own father, looking deep into Zimrah's eyes, clearly stating that this was her fault.

Zimrah awoke with a small yelp, scared and confused, unsure of where she was.

(9th Jul, 09:37) Sitva Said:

-Part 1-

Smiling to herself, Sitva watched as the calico wolf entered the den and wavered on her feet before flopping in the bed she had made for her. She knew bone weary when she saw it, and knew that was exactly what Zimrah was. "I'll let you rest, I'm gonna go fetch the rest of that deer so we have food for later." She turned and walked out of the den, slowly retracing their steps.

She neared the edge of the meadow where she had last seen the deer, and by now they had moved on. No doubt smelling two wolves and fleeing. Sitva picked up her pace and flicked her tail into the air, happy exhuberance seeming to drip from her body. It had been a long time since she had interacted with another wolf, let alone lived with one. It amazed her to realize how much she had been craving company. She had never really had a true friend before, as most of her pack had detested her because of her coloring. The only real reason they had kept her around so long was that she was a great hunter and tracker. Movement caught her eye and brought her back to herself. There were a few foxes snagging a snack off the dead deer. Sitva growled and snapped to run them off her kill then sank her teeth its neck and started dragging it back to the den.

Once back at the den, she dragged the kill to the side of it and remembered the mostly eaten fawn she had killed for herself not too long ago. Not one to waste food, Sitva finished off what little meat there was left and dragged the rest off into the woods a ways for other animals to scavenge. Feeling generally happy, Sitva lifted her muzzle to the air and let loose a howl of pure and utter happiness before remembering that Zimrah was probably asleep in the den. She padded sheepishly into the den and started cleaning herself off from the blood and forest debris quietly, hoping to not disturb her new denmate. Realizing she rather smelled, Sitva decided to forego the long licking and biting process to clean off, and instead go swim in the lake. Maybe I can catch a fish or two, she thought would that be a treat!

(7th Jul, 11:07) Zimrah Said:

Zimrah returned to her paws with as much dignity as she could muster. She was still feeling a bit embarrassed about the ordeal of being carted around like a puppy, but she raised her head a bit and did not wobble on her feet as she took slow and deliberate steps towards the den. She still had fear in her that being tired could trigger one of her episodes, but this other female seemed to have a soothing effect on her and she needed sleep... she would have to put her faith in Sitva for now.

Zimrah was faintly aware of the other female scrambling around the den ahead of her, but she paid it little mind as she tread slowly towards her goal, glad that she would soon have a safe place to rest. Closer to the mouth of the den the calico wolf paused again and looked around herself a little nervously. Placing herself in a vulnerable position such as inside another wolf's den was still a little nerve wracking, even while considering Sitva to be 'safe'. She took a deep breath and forced her paws to take the last fumbling steps into the den. She was pleased with the space and comfort once inside. She stood and looked around at the iridescent female, not wanting to seem rude by dropping to the ground, though it was what she felt like doing.

"Thank you," Zimrah felt choked up on the words, rarely spoken from her lips. "I don't have a way to repay you..." her words tapered off into a gaping yawn. She could resist gravity and sleep deprivation no longer, she flopped herself onto a bed of fur, hoping it wouldn't be seen as inconsiderate, and let out a loud sigh of relief.

"I'm gonna move a little bit faster, it's easier to get you to the den that way... you are in better shape than I was led to believe from your looks." Sitva quipped. She set off at a slightly quicker pace and in a little bit they were nearing the den. When they were on the edges of the field of flowers, she lowered herself to the ground and allowed the other fae the dignity of walking the little ways that was left to the den. When the other wolf was off her back, she kept walking toward hill with the den under it.

Looking behind her and waiting for Zimrah to catch up, she smiled a wolfish grin and let out a puppy-yip at her before bounding off excitedly to make a few last minute cleaning touches to the den before the calico came in. Inside the den she scratched half of the mound of rushes and rabbit fur into a dip for the other wolf and arranged the furs so that they would afford Zimrah the most comfort. She took the long leg bone of the elk she had killed last spring and moved it out of the sleeping area and off to the side. Her teeth were sharp because of that bone, and it was useful to have around. Using her legs, she flicked out some of the leafy debris that she had tracked in and stood back to look at her handy work. Noting that the entire place smelled of her, she rushed off to the tree line and yanked a low hanging cedar branch off the nearest tree and bit at it causing the oils in the needles to seep out their scent and loped off to the den. She put the branch at the back of the spacious cavern she had dug herself.

Once she had finished her ministrations of the den, she walked calmly back outside, hoping the other wolf had missed most of her excited dashing and sat at the entrance to wait for her.

(7th Jul, 05:20) Zimrah Said:

Zimrah was in shock at being taken off of her paws, though far too weak to react much at the moment. Her purple and green orbs widened in shock, her usual reaction to this would not be kind. The tri-colored wolf had learned early in life that staying on one's feet meant everything, she had learned well that it could mean the difference between life and death. She wanted to complain, or even snap at the dark female for lifting her, but her tired body simply sagged against the healthy pelt and thick muscle of the other wolf.

Zimrah was embarrassed by this closeness to the other wolf, but she told herself that being carried was not the same thing as being knocked off of her feet in battle. She continued to remind herself that nothing about this put her in danger, in fact, quite the other way around, this iridescent fae was putting a great deal of faith in her not to attack from this vantage point while given the chance. Even in her weakened state she could cause fatal wounds to the female from here. 'Not that I would do that,' she thought to herself, thankful for the kindness and simply hoping that it would not last too much longer, her pride was taking a nasty hit even while her physical body got such tender treatment.

I was out observing the deer herd when I found you. Stopping herself (and subsequently the other wolf), she stuck her head under the belly of the other wolf and through her front legs and stood up. Being slightly taller than a normal wolf, and much more muscular to boot, Sitva was able to carry the other fae on her back. She didn't wait for Zimrah to respond, but instead kept walking back to the den, hoping the other wolf understood that she wasn't trying to offend her, only help her.

Taking slow, deliberate steps, Sitva continued on their path, moving her back as little as possible so as not to unbalance her precious load. "As if I'd leave her behind..." she mumbled under her breath.

She was so thankful that her usual instinct to be suspicious of kindness was forgotten, she didn't even take the time to think about the last time she allowed another to be so close to her.

The calico wolf noticed that Sitva was slowing down and tried once more to take her weight off of the iridescent female that she was already thinking of as a friend. When was the last time she had thought of someone as a friend? Had she ever thought of anyone as a friend? Trying to think back made her head start spinning again however and she shook her head free of the thoughts and put her mind back at the task at hand. She badly wanted to rest and not impose on Sitva anymore, but was concerned that she would not make it to the den.

Sitva had disappeared inside herself, to a memory of when she had been kicked by a deer her pack had been after. The hoof had caught her in the rib and knocked the breath from her, it had caused so much pain that she had dropped to the ground and lain there prone Teven had looked at her and and kept running, and seeing that - the rest of the pack had left her there too. No doubt hoping that she would die from her injuries.

Shifting from her reverie, Sitva shook her head and looked to the other wolf. Flashes of concern and mistrust crossed her face before she pleadingly asked for help "Can you help me up? Help me walk?" Getting to her feet, Sitva tucked her head under the body of the other wolf and lifted her ungainfully to her feet. "Here, lean on me. I can bear your weight for you if you need me to." Once the other wolf was settled against her side, they started off slowly toward the den.

Sitva had forgotten all about the deer when the other wolf had looked at her with a small spark of trust in eyes. The thought crossed her mind that she should get it somehow, but since there are no other wolf packs, and not much other threats to the deer. Noting that, she decided that she would go get it later, once the other wolf was settled in the den and sleeping. As they walked, slowly, Sitva noted the other wolf was a but anxious still from her offer of sanctuary so she started filling her in on the lay of the land.

She started awkwardly, trying to make small talk and failing miserably, "Well... I suppose you have seen this small area... if you look over there through those trees you can see the current herd of deer. If you follow the path through the grass over there for about ten minutes you can find the huge lake where I get fresh water from. If you follow the path we are on through about three meadows you can find the den in a huge field of wild flowers..." she trailed off sheepishly, her secret love of the wonderfully colorful flowers and their sweet scent was about to be exposed and she coughed a bit, "it's pretty big because I kept digging it to keep my strength up in case of an attack. There's a pretty good sized rabbit population around here, and also a good amount of ducks. I usually leave those for the little foxes though..." Turning her head, she noticed that Zimrah was probably in need of a break so she slowed down.

(21st Jun, 09:40) Zimrah Said:

Zimrah was shocked at this female's kindness. Her usual instinct was to turn from kindness as though it was pain, since most kindness that she had known in her life was actually a ploy to hurt someone in the end. She was going to say no, she even bristled slightly, feeling annoyed at the offer for just a second, but then a wave of exhaustion hit her and she rethought the offer. She found that she wanted to trust Sitva, even if she was not yet sure that she truly did. It was a start, usually she would reject any offer of help from another wolf curtly, and here she was actually thinking that this she wolf might genuinely want to help her.

Zimrah felt conflicted inside, she had wanted to get away and not subject the kind Sitva to the possibility of seeing her have one of her episodes. She had meant to get far from here before sleeping, but logically she knew that she could not go far, possibly not even get to her feet without help. With strong feelings of concern she looked into the other wolf's eyes and slowly nodded her head. "You don't need to carry me though," she could not quite allow herself to seem that helpless, even if she felt that helpless, "Can you help me up? Help me walk?" she looked pleadingly at Sitva, hoping that she would understand.

(12th Jun, 03:17) Zimrah Said:
Part Two

"There were pups..." Zimrah spoke almost to herself, with a hint of surprise as the fog lifted from this particular memory, allowing her to see through for a second. But was this memory truth or dream? "My pups?" she spoke aloud but confused. The mental image of dead pups, bloodied and shredded, the image of a cruel grin on the alpha male's face. Zimrah shook her head sharply and tried to erase the image, real or imagined, she wasn't ready to think of that now. She groaned and looked at Sitva.

"I can't remember, I am sorry, I..." her body shuddered and she fought against it again, very aware that she could be forcing herself to have one of her spells. "I should leave before I cause trouble," she told the other female, but wondered if she could even get to her paws. "Sometimes I do things and don't have control over them," She was desperate to explain, to allow this other wolf to kick her out of her territory if she needed to, "I live alone so that I don't do anything to others, if I stay... if I stay you need to know that I am not always myself." She knew that this was a poor explanation, but she hoped that Sitva would understand and either chase her away, give her space for a while, or even kill her now, somehow even that wouldn't seem so bad.

(11th Jun, 12:51) Zimrah Said:

Zimrah at first wanted to wiggle away as the other wolf moved closer to her, used to avoiding contact unless it was time to fight, but she was too tired to move, and once Sitva had settled near her she found that it was not unpleasant having someone kind sharing her space, she was simply not used to another being so near without ill intentions. She remained stretched out on the ground as the black fae began speaking, but she raised herself into a more upright position to watch Sitva as the tale went on.Zimrah could hear the hurt in the other's voice as she spoke her sad words and Zimrah inched forward on her belly to rest her chin companionably close to Sitva's outstretched front legs, her eyes looking up at her intently as she finished her story.

When Sitva had finished speaking Zimrah knew that it was now appropriate for her to tell her own tale, but she was still held back from it, not by choice, but because of the strange fog that filled her mind whenever she tried to reach back. She felt like she owed something however, something about herself was required here after such a heartfelt speech from the other wolf. She reached into the depths of her clouded mind, grasping for a thread of truth that she could weave into a proper example of the life that she herself had led.

When Zimrah spoke it was in halting steps at first, her tone still low, and her chin still resting on the ground near Sitva. She kept her purple and green eyes closed, thinking. "I had nothing good happen to me in my pack either," she made a face at the word 'pack' as though something bitter was in her mouth, as though her disgust at the concept had an actual taste. "I was not related to the members of my pack, they were no family, my brother and I were adopted as pups to be raised with three other pups of the same age... I was too young to remember anything before that, our eyes were not even open yet. My brother fit in better than I, but neither of us were ever treated as family."

Zimrah paused for a long time, her head began to pound with a severe pain as she thought back, and she had yet to even try for the more illusive memories, she had only scratched the surface, picking up pieces that she knew to be true, that she knew were not just imagined. Basically aiming for the memories that occurred before she had snapped. Her life as a pup had been no bed of roses, but she had still been fairly normal back then. She rubbed her aching temple with one white paw, trying to rub away the pain in her head without any success.

She tried to continue, though things got more crossed and confused in her mind now. "The alpha female got sick, she was sick for a long time... in time she healed, but was unable to produce more pups..." Zimrah squinted her eyes shut further, trying to remember, but the pain and the fog were taking over. "The alpha male, Leo, chased her away... there was little love in the pack, even if you were not an outsider..." here Zimrah choked on her own words and had to stop, the pain was becoming unbearable, she had not even realized that she remembered the name of the male, she was only just now visualizing him chasing his mate away, she had forgotten it, but it was as clear in her mind now as though it had happened yesterday. She shuddered, remembering the gaunt alpha female, barely healed from her illness, having her ear shredded by the male as he bullied her out of the pack.

Zimrah tried to remember more, certain that the important things had happened later, after this first atrocity, but her brain, at first simply foggy, now went black, shutting her out of her own head. The pain behind her eyes became sharper and the world seemed to swim around her once more. She put her paws over her own head, pressed herself to the earth and whimpered. She assumed that her actions would now disturb Sitva, but it was too late for her to take it back, she was going to see some of Zimrah's oddness no matter what at this point.

Noting the exhaustion on the other wolfs face as she lay on the ground breathing and heaving heavily Sitva got up and walked over to Zimrah. Nuzzling the other wolfs neck, she lay back down. This time she lay near the other wolf, comforting her. "I will tell you my story, while you rest. You are weary, I understand.

Taking a deep breath Sitva began, slowly at first.
"When I was born, they knew I was different. I opened my eyes early, a few days before the rest of my littermates. I was the smallest, but I developed the quickest and had a very, very strong sense of smell and a great sense of direction. From a young age I was hunting small game, and I was never taught. As if that didn't set me apart enough, I was also oddly colored. In the sun, I shine with irridecense and... I was the only, only black wolf in the pack. While I was growing up, we had a very kind pack leader. He loved pups, and he especially loved me. He and his mate had a litter and they were all females, save one. He became the heir to the lead and my pack was happy with this. Later in life, when the leader passed on from old age, his son took up the mantle and became our alpha... later he chose a mate and her name was Teven. Teven was threated by me. I used to enjoy a place with the hunting group because the old leader was the only wolf that cared for me. Even my mother tried to ostrasize me because of my oddness.

When Teven and Vini ran the pack, my low status only got lower. Teven thought I was after Vini as a mate, and I was treated as the outcast in my own pack. One day, I was called on to scent for the hunt. As soon as my leader knew where I was headed, he had me stay back. So I tried to make myself as hidden as possible, and I failed. The elk buck saw me, and they ran. Teven decided that was the last straw. She ran me off from the pack and I was alone.

For months I traveled, as far from any pack as I could get. I hunted for myself, I found water, and I ran. For days I ran, and ran trying to outrun my past and finally I found this place. I am months away from my old pack, farther from any pack that I have ever stumbled across and alone. I found that there was fresh water in the lake in the middle of the forest here, quite a few deer herds that either live here, or roam through. A roaming elk herd comes through occasionally, and we always have ducks around... I especially love the rabbits. They dont really have anyone around here feeding on them since there are no large cats and only a few foxes that frequent this area. I'm alone here, but my territory is sprawling with lots of space to run and be free.

I have lived here for two summers, and never have I found another wolf in the area. I haven't ever been challenged for space. I used to be okay with being lonely... but now I've met another wolf who seems to have gone through something like I did, with a coloring as unusal as mine. I find myself hoping that you stay... because I have missed the company of another after so much time..."

Sitva swallowed, it was hard for her to remember how she was run off and how she had lost her pack. Blinking back the tears that threatened her, she lifted her head and looked to Zimrah again, "I can't force you to stay forever, I can't even force you to share my den for one night. But I would like you to stay until you are well, or at least more fit for travel. I like you, I would love to have you for company regardless of your past. I promise you, that I will not turn you away, or turn away from you - whatever you tell me." She lowered her head, blinking again and laying her head on her paws.

(10th Jun, 11:12) Zimrah Said:

Zimrah was caught of guard once more by this other wolf. Her mouth opened slightly and silently in surprise, she looked over her shoulder in one direction, then back in the other, almost as if expecting to see that Sitva was speaking to someone other than herself. When it fully hit her that she was being given her first opportunity to talk about her own past she was struck mute at the unexpectedness of this gesture that was, in it's own way, kinder than the sharing of food and the offer of safety. She closed her eyes and shook her head sadly.

Once Zimrah found her voice she spoke in a hushed tone, barely above a whisper, "I only remember flashes of my life... it's like looking through smoke or fog," she bristled slightly, an involuntary response to the feelings that she knew enveloped her when she tried to force her mind to go back, "I know a few things, some things may have been a dream, for certain some things are nightmares... whether real or imagined."

The few words, spoken quietly and timidly, exhausted Zimrah and she suddenly shuddered and sank to the earth beneath her. She looked pleadingly at Sitva, hoping that the other female would speak more and not expect her to go on just yet. Her mind reeled in retaliation at her pathetic attempt to put events into order through the veil of shadow that covered her own past. She lay against the ground, flat on her side now, breathing heavily, heaving with the weight of what was being asked of her. It felt like she was being crushed and as the world began to go out of focus around her she hoped fervently that Sitva would say something, anything, to snap her out of her stupor.

(10th Jun, 10:46) Sitva Said:

Sitva watched as Zimrah looked in the direction of the den, the longing clear in her eyes. When was the last time this wolf had slept in the security of a warm den? The indecision was plain on the other wolf's features and Zimrah looked towards her and shook her tri colored head sadly, "I would love to stay, but for me the thought of staying is... scary. There are things about me that are not..." the other wolf paused for a moment, "I am not well." she finally stammered.

Sitva cocked her head sideways, deciphering what the other wolf wasn't trying to say. Deciding to hear her out, she lowered herself to the ground and crossed her front paws, "I have no where special to be, and nothing that needs done today. Please, tell me your story. Since I'm sure you are curious about mine, I will oblige and tell you mine when you finish. If you still decide to leave, I won't keep you." she laid her head on her paws, head still tilted to the side in her interest for the other fae's story.

(10th Jun, 09:27) Zimrah Said:
(part one)

Zimrah fully intended to ignore Sitva and continue walking, leaving her back turned to the other. It was the tone in Sitva's voice that made her pause with one white paw in the air. Her Black ears flicked back to catch the other wolf's small speech and something inside of her cold heart fluttered. If this wolf was telling her the truth she might be the first canine that Zimrah had met with a past that was even remotely similar to her own. She had no plans to ever make friends with another wolf again and no plans to share a territory, but plans changed as she knew all too well. In fact plans had led to nothing but trouble for her and this thought made her turn around, facing the dark female once more.

Zimrah's odd eyes gazed into Sitva's for a moment, she tried to decipher the depth of honesty in the other's words. Her propensity for distrust was pushed aside for the seconds that she looked upon the sincerity in the black fae's eyes. Some part of her yearned to take her up on the offer, staying with a wolf that she might be able to trust opened her heart to a hint of hope that she had thought was impossible for one that had been turned as cold as herself. She was going to smile, going to step towards Sitva and thank her, but she couldn't do it, not quite. What about her 'spells'... what if she had one of her episodes here in front of the other?

Zimrah heaved a long sigh and dropped her eyes to stare at the ground once more. She was confused and undecided. Her heart and her mind were at conflict with one another and she felt trapped in the middle as though none of it were up to her. She felt pushed and pulled by her own emotions even though she stood firm and still upon the grass below her. The generosity coming from the black wolf was unexpected and the reaction it caused in her was equally unexpected. Zimrah wanted to thank her for it, but was mute in her confusion.

She began to think that she would have to admit the truth to Sitva, but what would the other canine think of her then? Admitting to her strange past, strange episodes and strange memories would surely put another wolf on edge. Zimrah had to face the fact that she was just not normal, and beyond that, she knew that she could be dangerous to others as well as to herself. She couldn't put another through that, not after she had been shown such kindness.

Zimrah looked towards Sitva and her den longingly, but shook her tri colored head sadly, "I would love to stay," she did not want to lie, "But for me the thought of staying is... scary. There are things about me that are not..." she trailed of. She wanted to not lie to the oddly colored female, but she didn't want to tell her that she was a crazy wolf either. "I am not well." she finally stammered, deciding that this was both a safe way to put it along with not being a lie to weigh on her conscience later. She was prepared now to turn her back again, to step away, but something held her in place, waiting for a reply. She bowed her head politely to Sitva, knowing that it couldn't convey all of her thanks, but hoping the other wolf would understand just the same.

Sitva watched as a small shudder wracked the body of the other female while she lowered her head and gazed around herself. Knowing this wolf was mostly likely not used to being shown kindness, much like herself, Sitva paused and allowed Zimrah to gather her thoughts on the offer of shelter. When the other wolf seemed to sway to the side, whimpering and almost fall over before righting herself, Sitva showed a small amount of concern and wrinkled her brow. This wolf could not go off on her own, something was wrong and she needed more rest than she had let herself show before. Now extremely determined that this wolf would stay with her, Sitva raised her head and tried to look authoritative and stood with a slightly more resolute stance than before.

"I appreciate the offer," Zimrah said, "But I should be moving on..." As she turned her back to leave, Sitva called out to her, "I saw you sway, shudder and tense. I sense your distrust of other wolves. I am like you. I was run off from my pack because of my coloring. My pack treated me badly, fought me constantly, and I was allowed only enough food to survive because of my ability to hunt. I have lived alone for two summers, here in this land and have etched a life for myself. I am more lonely than I would like to admit. I do not like being helpless. Because of this, I have not let myself become weak. I do not know what happened in your past, but I sense that something traumatic happened. I know I cannot replace your family, your friends... but I would like to be your friend. I don't want you to walk away and be alone. Being alone is not a good state for our kind and while I can see that you can fight if you have to, I wouldn't want that for you. Please, stay here. I promise you that I am no push over, and that I can provide for the both of us until your stregnth is back. If you decide to leave at that time, I will not force or beg you to stay. But you are welcome to live here with me for as long as you would like to."

She paused, swallowing. It was more than she had ever spoken since she had left her pack behind and become an alpha of her own land. She didn't like showing her weakness, and her lonliness. Something about this wolf was different, but Sitva knew what being different meant and she didn't like how it felt. This wolf was surely treated the same way at some point, and something had happned to her as surely as she was named Sitva. "Something about you reminds me of myself. I haven't ever had a friend, or had anyone talk to me like an equal... I have never had anyone be nice to me. I have never, ever had anyone appreciate me or a meal the way you did today and I would hate to let you slip away and be alone again. Please, don't turn away from me. I think we can help each other..." She swallowed hard again, it was like when she left home, when her aunt turned away from her. The only wolf that had shown her even a small amount of love. Shifting on her paws while the other wolf had her back turned, Sitva tried to hide her small hopeful expression. I hope she stays... I can't handle the ache of lose anymore.. it's too much for one wolf to be alone...

(5th Jun, 07:33) Zimrah Said:

Zimrah felt nervous at the offer of staying here to rest. She liked this wolf well enough, even despite her usual wariness of other canines, but she didn't like the idea of sticking around long enough for Sitva to see her stranger side. Zimrah stood up, head hanging low and glanced around herself. Her purple and green eyes flicked from the other wolf to her own paws as she tried to decide what she should say or do. She was torn between wanting company and wanting to be clear of this territory before she did something that she would regret.

While standing, eyes downcast, deep in thought, Zimrah began to feel a bit dizzy. The feeling of vertigo hit her and she wobbled on her paws. 'No,' she thought desperately, 'not now!' It felt like the ground was moving under her, rolling like waves of water, though she knew it was not. She whimpered slightly and shook her head hard, biting down on her own tongue at the same time. Everything snapped back into clear reality around her, the pain seemed to bring her back to herself, the feeling of vertigo dissipated. She was even more concerned about staying now.

"I appreciate the offer," Zimrah mumbled to Sitva, "But I should be moving on..." She could barely bring herself to look the other female in the eyes. She apologetically thanked her again for the meal and then slowly turned away, back in the direction that she had been heading when she had first realized that she was in another wolf's territory. She sighed, her paws felt very heavy as she lifted one after the other to carry her from this place. She wanted to be well clear of the territory before she allowed herself to sleep, but she was already so exhausted that she stumbled a bit as she moved, only hoping that the other wolf would not notice.

(31st May, 05:23) Sitva Said:

Noticing that Zimrah had finished eating her fill (what little her stomach could handle, anyway), Sitva tucked into the wolf with relish, enjoying the feeling of warm deer meat sliding down her throat and the taste of wet blood. After having finished a good sized portion of the buck, she stood up and started dragging the deer toward her den to store for later. I wonder if I should say something to her, or assume she will follow me back... considering her option, Sitva sat the deer back down and opened her mouth to speak, remembering that this wolf probably wouldn’t remember the subtle signals that would tell her she was welcome to stay.

Clearing her throat she turned back to Zimrah with a sheepish grin, “It seems I’m also rusty with dealing with other wolves, I’ve been alone for a couple years now and I’ve gotten used to just walking off to the den with my leftovers… uhh.. would you like to stay awhile and get your health back? My territory is far, very far, from any other wolf packs, and I have never even scented another wolf having ever been here before you.” She paused, thinking to herself. This wolf acted like she had with her old pack, submissive, almost frightened and not wanting to do or say the wrong thing. Her extreme gratitude when she took the first bites of what was probably her first venison in a very long time showed Sitva that this shewolf would benefit greatly from some decent food.

“I don’t know about you, but after I have a full stomach of deer meat, I rather like to take a long, long nap in the sun, and since it’s afternoon it should be nice and warm. I’m taking this deer home with me, and you are more than welcome to come share my den.” Sitva felt no inhibitions offering shelter to this wolf either, and she had spent a great deal of time etching a large, deep den out of the hillside, and it was warm and big enough for quite a few wolves. Picking up the deer again, she started walking back toward her den, dragging the deer with her.

(31st May, 01:51) Zimrah Said:

Zimrah fixed her odd eyes on the iridescent black wolf, trying to decipher whether or not this was some sort of joke. She seemed genuine enough however and Zimrah's mouth watered as she stepped up to the deer. "Thank you," she said in a hushed tone of wonder as she sank her teeth into the deer. Out of habit she kept her eyes partially on the other wolf, but when their eyes met she waved her white tipped tail back and forth in a friendly manner. She was no longer used to being friendly, but it had much to do with not being used to having anyone show her any kindness.

She was unable to eat much at once, her stomach had shrunken tight inside her due to lack of feeding, but she felt full for the first time in ages and licked her lips appreciatively. She was fast enough to chase prey, but she didn't have the strength to bring down large game very often and tended to survive off of rabbit and rodent meat unless lucky enough to encounter a badly injured ungulate. Deer meat was such a welcome surprise that, belly full, she sat back on her haunches and smiled, eyes half closed for a moment, just savoring the pleasant feeling. She could feel her body taking strength from the food, while at the same time, in sharp contrast, feeling full made her sleepy. She was unsure how long it had been since she had slept, having no memory of recent travels.

Zimrah began to worry again about having one of her spells while around this other wolf, they seemed to come on more frequently when she was tired. She wondered what proper etiquette was for leaving the she wolf's territory after being so kindly treated and fed. She blinked her heavy eyelids and looked over at Sitva, curious if she would be able to take a cue from the other as what she was now meant to do. She was so socially inept and began to feel uncomfortable once more under the pressure that she was meant to do something that was beyond her comprehension.

Gazing languidly at the other wolf, Sitva gave a small chuckle, "He was next anyway, see his back leg? It's broken. Don't worry... I have no reason to harm you, and besides - you looked hungry," Stretching her back end into the air and leaning back into a play bow she continued, "besides, it's been too long since I've had any company."

Standing up, Sitva licked the blood from her lips and tore open the stomach cavity of the deer. "Go ahead, eat first and as much as you want." She sat a little ways off, tail swishing absently behind her, happy to have some company and hoping this "Zimrah" would trust her. Caught by surprise, Sitva realized she wanted this parti-colored wolf to stay... and she couldn't remember the last time she had wanted company from another wolf.

The thought was so bizarre to her that she found herself watching the other wolf. She was lean, almost wire-framed but very pretty. Her unusual coloring appealed to Sitva because her own coloring was also strange. Her eyes were two different colors, a deep purple she had never seen before and a green that sparkled somewhere from within. I wonder what Vini would have thought of this wolf... she's so much more unusual than I was.

(31st May, 12:20) Zimrah Said:
(page 1)

Zimrah was surprised all over again when the dark shimmery female wolf before her turned away jauntily and motioned for her to follow, all signs of aggression gone. She watched her trot away and stood motionless herself, mouth open in shock. Of all the things she had considered might happen, being invited to join the female for any length of time had not been what she expected. Her eyes narrowed, was this she wolf trying to trick her? Was there an ulterior motive? Zimrah was naturally distrustful, yet she could come up with no reason in her head that this unknown wolf might deceive her, so she pricked her ears forward and trotted along after her.

By the time Zimrah reached the crest of the hill that Sitva had disappeared over the other female had already taken off after a deer. In fact Zimrah could see from where she stood that the other wolf had made a kill. "That was fast." Zimrah whispered to herself, and reminded herself once more to be careful around this wolf, she was clearly strong and skilled. Zimrah actually considered turning and running the other way when the dark wolf called her down to the meal. Her stomach was growling loudly, the smell of fresh meat was overwhelming, but part of her feared taking anything from another wolf, no matter what. In her life she had learned that things only came with strings attached. She looked over her shoulder, back the way she had come, she was sure that she could sprint fast enough to be clear of the other's territory before being caught if she moved now, she was much less certain that she could win a battle if the female had some ulterior motive for her kindness.

Zimrah looked back at Sitva and the fresh kill again. Saliva filled her mouth, making her smack her lips a bit. She danced nervously from one white foot to the other, undecided on the best course of action. She did not want to get caught up in a trap of some sort yet she did not want to be rude either.

(31st May, 12:25) Zimrah Said:
(page 2)

The compromise was to stare stupidly at the wolf and deer before her, which, she realized, was exactly what she was doing. Zimrah was suddenly embarrassed, as usual her behavior was erratic and bizarre, she had to wonder what this other wolf must thing of her eccentricities. Though her instincts had been pushing her to turn and run, it was her embarrassment of her own behavior that made her lope down to the other wolf instead, determined to not make a fool of herself for once. She bobbed her head at the other wolf again, trying to show her respect.

"There was no need to hunt because of me," she said shyly, but the smell of deer blood was even more deliciously overwhelming now that she was closer to it. Her stomach made a very audible grumble and Zimrah lowered her head and chuckled a little. A light laugh that sounded very strange to her own ears.

(Part One)

Sitva relaxed when this “Zimrah” lowered her head in greeting. She recognized the immediate apology for what it was; a lack of recent experience with other wolves, she was the same way. The sudden tension in the other wolfs body showed her all she needed to know. Turning her back to the other wolf, Sitva flicked her tail and called over her shoulder, “Come, follow me.” and loped easily off, back toward the herd of deer. The sun lit the ground through the trees and a light breeze carried her scent away from her as she led the way; hoping the other wolf would follow. In all truth, the minute Sitva had seen the mistrust, and lack of skill with dealing with the situation, she had decided she liked this wolf. More than likely she was another lone wolf.

The deer were where she had left them, and grazing happily as she neared. Still unsure about whether the other wolf had followed, Sitva eased her steps and crouched down to watch and pick a nice animal for this calico shewolf. A yearling buck had wandered off from the herd, the velvet on his antlers beginning to itch had caused him to find a likely tree to rub it off against. Her target picked because of his sheer inability to keep himself under decent cover, she inched forward until she could almost feel his breath on her fur. Sneak attacks had become her best weapon when she hunted alone, and this was no different.

(Part Two)

Two long strides and she was hanging onto the yearling with a death grip on his throat, waiting for her powerful jaws and sharp white teeth the let the life ebb out of her prey. The deer milled around uneasily, they could smell blood and predator, but couldn’t see their attacker. Finally they decided it best to leave, and Sitva watched as they walked off into the distant trees where she had been hiding not much earlier. Throwing back her head, she let out a low howl and called to the other wolf, it was time to eat. Lucky wolf, I didn’t have this sort of kindness when I was run off, I didn’t even get to eat anything. Unbeknownst to her, she had started to like this strange wolf with the calico fur… and she was happy about it.

(30th May, 08:40) Zimrah Said:
(part one)

Zimrah's head snapped around as the wolf came into view. The female was dark, yet as she stood with the sun falling on her she shimmered with an iridescence that had Zimrah mutely fascinated for a moment, having never met a wolf with such interesting coloration. The other female was much larger than herself, sleek muscle below the shine of a healthy coat, and her stance was proud and authoritative. Zimrah did not like being underestimated. She knew that she was quite gaunt, but her wiry muscles were deceptively strong, and her long legs and lean frame made her very fast which was her real strength. She was fast when running, fast with her fangs, and nimble on her feet. If you could knock her down you had the upper hand for sure, but getting her down was no minor feat. For these reasons she was first tempted to answer the female aggressively, but then she reminded herself that is was she who was trespassing, and she dropped her head and tail a bit, dipping her head in greeting.

When the dark female asked her who she was and why she was here Zimrah was caught of guard and found that she had to think about this. She opened her mouth to speak, then clicked it shut with an audible snap when no sound came out. She cocked her head to one side, looking around herself, puzzled again, then spoke in a voice that was harsh and crackly from disuse.

"I am Zimrah," she started with that because despite everything that had happened, she knew that to be true. "I did not intend to trespass, I..." here she paused again... she what? Did she admit to this total stranger that the last clear memory she had was in a different place and different season? That didn't seem smart. "I have been traveling alone for a long time, my sense of proper protocol... is lacking. I apologize and will be moving out of your territory as soon as I can." She tilted her head to the side once more and waited to see if this fae would grant her passage or put up more of a fight.

(30th May, 08:48) Zimrah Said:
(part two)

Zimrah realized in a sort of foggy and distant way that she should be prepared for either response. This female might simply let her pass, but as this was her territory it would not be unexpected for her to fight. She remained passive in pose, but felt her muscles ripple and bunch beneath her fur, preparing for fight or flight as needed. She had nothing against this female, and indeed felt bad for her trespass, but she distrusted wolves in general and was used to them being sneaky, selfish and bloodthirsty. She could not even claim that she herself was any different, she had not pieced it all together yet, but flashes of memory of wolf blood on her tongue and a dead pack before her kept her from considering herself an innocent.

She waited to see what the verdict would be from the raven colored she wolf before her, only hoping that the other would make up her mind before another one of those 'spells' hit. She wanted to be away and gone before another strange lapse occurred.

*A comment in which Zimrah stumbles into the Sitva's territory because of a black out in memory and becomes uncertain about what to do in this situation*

**Another comment in (part one) which Sitva is watching a herd of deer and scents another wolf on the wind and goes to find the intruder to her territory**

***Part Two of the above comment is continued here.***

The other wolf was alone, she couldn’t smell anyone else but herself and this outsider. Instinct told her that she didn’t need to look quite so fierce to a female, but she kept on her toes anyway and continued looking for the intruder.

Minutes later she was standing at the edge of a small clearing, watching as a strangely colored wolf stood, bristling and stiff legged, with an uncertain look on her face. She was bony, skinny and not much of a threat, but her coloring eased Sitva’s fear as she realized this wolf was mostly likely an outcast as well, and probably no stronger than a newborn pup.

“Who are you and why are you in MY territory?” She barked loudly and authoritatively. “Announce yourself!” Sitva bristled her fur and made herself look threatening, since this wolf obviously needed a lesson in proper conduct. She hadn’t even howled a greeting to the alpha – her! In her own land… how dare she…
