I love Hellboy, but the comics and animated movies will always beat the movies.
anyway, great work the muscle is great 'cause its not over done, though the fact the the right arm seams to have more muscles is a nice touch.

Phenomenal work, the sheer detail in the powerful musculature and the ripples and seams of the clothing, the texture of the stone hand, the veins slithering over his arms, and his badass expression really breath life into this character. Keep up the amazing work!

Still one of the most incredible pieces on HellBoy I've seen! Much much better than the piece of crap they were selling at San Diego Comicon as a Con Special. It was accurate but really rough. Ugh!

No, it was the comic version. I can understand that they were trying to match the rougher style of the comic, however a lot of detail was unpolished and seemed to have been slapped on. Especially in the stone arm. It was brought to my attention by more than one person, and just seemed a little sloppy. This was one of the [roughly] 2 foot tall vinyl figures. The smaller figurines were much more detailed, although yours equals or surpasses them in that regard.

Yeah I have that figure, it's interesting, I read the article about those sculpts, Dave Cortes at INU Art did most of them. When he showed a rough prototype it had a bunch of stuff cut into it as it was just a rough, but they totally dug it and so they went with the rough look. But I agree the details look soft especially on the large figure, the small ones are really crisp. I think Randy Bowen did an outstanding comic version as a statue.

Absolutely agree with you there. Randy is one of the best. Last I met him, he was still using the wire tools I made for him. Warms my heart, when he told me that.
