Such impulse aside, that leggy beastie bears an, um, unsettling resemblance to the very, very large, totally fire-snorting 'Martian Fighting Machine' fielded on the 'War of the Worlds' musical's first tour.
Unfolding monstrous limbs, it descended from the shadowy 'flies' of the Echo Arena, drew wild applause plus a well-deserved quorum of screams...
Second tour, its body down-sized to a mere VW Beetle to play less capacious venues, it was rather less terrifying...
