This one was crazy. I brainstormed for a long time and due to projects I could just get to work today. Since I wasn't pleased with the earlier ideas and sketches, I started this painting from scratch and completed it; in half a day. I must eat now!This is my entry for the Art Order's Dungeon Delve Challenge.
I have never done a challenge so far. This one was a lot of fun, even if it was a speedpainting.
I rarely draw humans. XD
edit: changed the lighting a little. ^^
No references, 5 hours.

Honestly, I can't believe how much you've improved. I've watched your art for a couple of years now, going on three I believe... and while you were always an outstanding artist this is very reminiscent of something I'd expect to see in a D&D art book. (I know this is somewhat old, but I'm going through my favorites and just HAD to comment.)
The lighting is dramatic as is the angle. Lovely work on the sketchy but noticeable details as well.
...And I don't think she's going to make it out of that dungeon. Poor travelers. Always so blissfully ignorant as to never look behind them....

Ahh, reminds me of the good old times.
When you're in a dungeon and have a lantern every other light is most likely trouble.
And then there was the crazy idea of a dragon shadow dancer...
Great effect you've got there. And for someone who's not painting humans often you've done a good job. The armor is not exaggerated, sword and lantern seem to be of the right size, too (although I never understood why someone would enter a narrow dungeon with a longsword, but that's another matter...).
The only point I have is that the leg seems to be a bit too massive. Might look better if you're able to thin the upper line a bit (it looks as if either the cloak has no substance or the leg has an angle somewhere between the seen part and the hip).

That's really really good for only half a day... (and I'm sure I'm only stating the obvious by saying so)
But, I feel really sorry for her when she finally realizes that there's a DRAGON behind her.

Superb piece of work! I could entirely see this being in an official D&D book and not looking at all out of place (and they do have pretty damn high quality art these days, regardless of what else folks might think of 4e). I think it'd make for a beautiful print, too.
