Edgar Ramirez is a very succesful actor who become a TV boom in our country (Venezuela). Now he just ended a movie in Hollywood with Tony Scott called "Domino" in wich he plays with stars as Keira Knightley, Mena Suvari, Christopher Walken, Lucy Liu, Mickey Rourke, Macy Gray, Jacqueline Bisset. WOW. Good Start!This picture was taken a couple of years ago, when all of us suspects the good destiny of our friend. The grain is absolutly INTENTIONALLY ´cause wanted to give a diferent mood to the picture. Is Iso 400 film pushed to EV 1600, so SORRY fine grain lovers, but I LOVE the coarse grain, is a pattern that has no equal!
Was scanned from my portfolio, sorry if any scratch is visible. My negative scanner passed away!

Saw this as one of *iamkatia 's favourites today and had to come and have a closer look.
What a beautiful picture of such a beautiful person. I am not aware of him as an actor, but what a face! Katia mentioned that he looks weary, but for me he looks like ... dreaming... closing his eyes and transporting himself somewhere else for a brief moment.
For me the closed eyes and the position of his arms in this composition is very masculine, but showing a "softer side" to his personality. You need to trust someone to close your eyes in their presence. And the grain brings a lovely mood to this picture as well. I am in awe of this, and the rest of your gallery. It's all full of impact. I will keep my eye on you and this my dear will also be in my favourites.

he's gorgeous, god, yes. but there is so much more to this photo than that.
the grain is luscious.. that's first.
the expression and posture are of utter weariness..
and i feeeeel the weariness..
which is part of what makes this photo great -
i absolutely feel him right now.. his ... absence of energy..
the length of it was also a good choice.
it adds a depth to the emotion, i feel.
very simple and yet, so effective

Very well composed shot! The simple composition, I like! I'm like you, I really adore the grain... It isn't alway used well but for this instance, it looks amazing! The expression on his face make me melt! Great focus on him with the background blurred out. Wonderful capture! No scratches visible, so no worries! Though I kind of want to see the color version of this!

But there´s no color version, it was take all in BW and pushed the film to "exposure value" (EV) 1600, for 2 reasons: To get the grain (hehehehe) and for dim light avalable (the picture was in a garage). Great composition and a nice way to show a guy as vulnerable and yet still have him agree to do the pose. Did you cut off his hand on purpose? I almost think it would have looked better if you could see what it was pressed against. Not sure, just a thought.

Idid not cut off the hand, its behind a pole. But the print size was bigger than the scanner area by almost an inch. A friend scanned for me. I sorrow too
