Description Yazid Ibn Muawiyah (646-683.CE)

he was the 2nd Umayyad caliph after his father Muawiyah I

he was the first ever to inherit the throne in Islam and this what makes him a highly controversial figure (if he had the right to inherit the throne or not)

through his reign a great events took place and the most important one of them was the killing of prophet Muhammad's grandson Al-Husayn Ibn Ali in Karbala and second event is the brutal sacking of Medina the second holiest city in Islam.

he ruled for only 3 years and yet the most catastrophic events in the history took place through his reign.
